Oct 7 happened. Hamas killed about 400 IDF and militants, which is their right under an illegal occupation.
About 600 Israeli civilians were killed and nobody knows how many were killed by the IDF using the Hannibal Doctrine and how many were killed by Hamas. Regardless, killing civilians is a war crime and anyone on either side who has killed civilians should be put on trial.
Israel, of course, has killed, injured or disappeared 100,000 Palestinians so far.
US/Canada was somewhat involved in the Syrian civil war - half million dead, 13 million refugees. The Yemen civil war where Canadian made weapons were used by the Saudis had 380,000 dead, 85,000 dead children, and 4 million refugees. Currently the US is active behind the scenes in Sudan (which currently has special forces from half the world) and in the past 9 months around 30,000 dead, 8 million refugees.
In Syria, it was mainly Arabs (and Russians) killing Arabs. In Yemen, it was Arabs killing Arabs. In Sudan it's Arabs killing Arabs with an ethnic cleansing of Africans. None of them bother people like Frank. I wonder what ethnicity has to be involved to get Frank all riled up.
Actually on topic, poverty drives crime and Jane/Driftwood is a poor neighbourhood. Other than there being a clear connection between racialized people and poverty, all the people trying to turn this tragedy into a race issue are just hateful trolls.

Is this diatribe in in reply to my post? I jumped in here because a bunch of people are claiming race is the reason for this crime instead of poverty and exclusion. Is that what you believe or are you just engaging in a stream of consciousness ramble?
p.s. On the topic of solutions, frank is far closer than you. Heavy policing didn't stop anything in the 90's and it won't know. The solution is to take away the incentive from the street level warriors is to provide opportunity and a chance to engage in society. High level organized crime will always exist, whether from mafia types, bikers, corrupt cops, or politicians, but the goal should be to cut the street level stuff that actually impacts 'civilians'.
I know your old-school cop mentality thinks the solution is to simply stop and frisk any black people in the area but that just makes things worse.
