The Canadian media has an unwritten rule that this stuff does not make it to the press. How many politicians hobby. The media know of their hobby. They don't write about it. That rule was broken here. Harper, personally, approved the story.
I would not be so sure. Radical feminists who would otherwise vote for the NDP may not like this. On the other hand, radical feminists might just be naive enough to believe his explanation.
I can see Albertan men liking it as it makes Layton seem less politically correct.
It will be interesting to see how it plays out. This late in the campaign, it might not make any difference. However, it will be interesting to see how the various groups react.
So it was all very professional ...until now, when the police decided to leak this at the point it could do maximum damage. And people criticize me when I say we live in a police state. Here is a guy that was not charged at ALL getting his character assassinated by police in the middle of an election campaign. How sad for our country... if I had not already voted, I would change my vote to NDP just because of that. Maybe some homophobes will change their mind and vote for him now.

Oh, I'm sure Harper is listed in some black book somewhere. If I were a high profile politician with skeletons in my closet, I'd at least be damn sure that they were all young, gorgeous babes so that when they surface, I wouldn't be so ashamed to admit that I fucked them.

They went to Harper's friends at Sun Media. Nobody else would have launched the story. Once out, of course, all the media will pick it up. This was a very bad move by Harper. It will back fire. Jack will be PM.

Pretty sure the media doesn't have an unwritten rule "that this stuff does not make it to the press" ... in fact, just the opposite. It's juicy details like this that allow the media to feel sanctimonious.
What's shocking here is that this story showed up in a newspaper that is such a bastion of Liberal / NDP support. I'm sure the Sun would have much happier if they could have aimed a story like this at Harper in an attempt to sully his character.:eyebrows:

Jack Layton is another Bob Rae and he'll bankrupt this country within a year if ever elected as Prime Minister. It's easy to sit back and be critical but once you get into the dance you'll have to lead way it is a different ball game. I would still lean towards the Liberals or Conservatives. The fucking moron wants to form a gov't with the Bloc to oust the conservatives. What a way to keep Canada united.
