I tend to agree, but the Trump Administration appeared to be building a strong relationship with the Saudis while alienating the Iranians. There are no angels to deal with in this region that's for sure.

I remember when Trump was trying to box in the PRC. There were vocal critics across the aisle. Thankfully, the Biden Administration has been tough on China when it was their turn to lead.

Get ready for 2024 because every Presidential candidate will tell you how they would bring peace to the Mideast and the Ukraine, counter the Chinese, resolve our differences with Justin's hairdresser ;) and make the world a better place for our children. Keep your eyes and ears on Newsom.
A few days might tell. My gut is telling me the next 72 hours is crucial and whether or not this stays a brush fire. Or a raging forest fire.

Geopolitically we already have
Russia/Ukraine
China
And the mid east is ALWAYs a bit of a shit show. What will Iran and the Saudis do, what will others do.

And it’s not as if, we both the US and Canada have more than enough problems in our own backyards.

Sunny days last forever.

Yet they like to talk about free thinking and doing their own research 🙄

Absolutely 150% agree

Same cats, different stripes.
Con cats don’t really pretend to be something they aren’t. They will gut you if you don’t watch them. But you know what they are.

Liberal cats hold camp fires, sing kumbaya, hug everyone around, invite everyone to the party, and to eat and drink all the sweets, and party. And slowly poison everyone.
Memory, all alone in the moonlight
I can smile at the old days
I was beautiful then
I remember a time I knew what happiness was
Let the memory live again

Sorry, I couldn't help myself. Even though I am a dog, I love Cats the musical.

It's disgusting and only twats would get behind it and spout off the same nonsense in support of their fearless leader. I'm waiting on PEE PEE to start the same crap about Justin. It's only a matter of time.
Chill, squeeze. You have to take into account the possibility you are tone deaf and can only hear opportunistic rhetoric from the other side.

Sorry to Pooh on your quote above, but isn't it more than a bit ironic that you are using this quote to counter another quote.

Sure it is. I believe I also said I hate it when politicians try to capitalize off tragedy. Not unlike JT did before the corpses were even cold in NS..The worse the tragedy, the more vile and distasteful it is.

If you choose to condone it, that’s your choice
This is a little different, isn't it? This Israel-Palestinian conflict has been going on endlessly for over 75 years.

The Trump Administration believes a new approach and progress was being made with the Abraham Accords. It doesn't matter if it is sustainable or not.

Gaza only has 33% of its needed electricity supply. They have one three turbine plant but 66% of their power is supplied by Israel over 10 lines. If I were Israel I would turn off that power today and leave it off until all the hostages are returned. Gaza also has a desperate fresh water shortage. The limited Gaza electricity is crucial to water treatment and pumping. Turn off the Israel 10 power lines and put pressure on Hamas starved of water and electricity and see how that works.

As I said before, pretty sure this is about an imminent Saudi/Israeli peace deal. Coupled with a nice 50 anniversary of the Yom Kipper war. They shot their shot with thousands of missiles to overwhelm defenses. Now Hamas awaits the reaction, gets the footage of Palestinians bodies for the Arab in the streets, and hopes it gets derailed.

Ugly ugly business.

Hamas wants the humanitarian crisis. The easy dissemination of hospitals fucked, and children without water. They will happily sacrifice a few thousand.

I agree with you.

I'm just making the point that you have to give the Trump Administration some leeway at the beginning of the election season to say we had a different approach to the region. Would this escalation have happened anyway? Possibly.

LOL…Yeah…That was kinda the idea.

I’m impressed, Sir…in my experience most conservatives lack the ability to recognize irony.

The Abraham Accords were only accelerated colonialism.
All they did was try to award Israel more of Palestine and more rights over Palestine.

But this has been going on for 75 years, during which Israel has continually taken more of Palestine while still claiming to be the victim.
If you want peace either end the occupation or end apartheid.

I don't follow much Israel news, so was the rocket attack a retaliation for storming the Al-Aqsa mosque? Not an unprovoked one?
Yes, the first report I read said 800, this one says 1,000.
Exact same start to the last round of violence in 2021.

Gaza has been living through 17 years of illegal blockade.
47% unemployment, almost no drinkable water and only a few hours of electricity a day.

That's what Israel wants, not Palestinians.
Its not much different from when the blockade started.

It is a great tragedy, war is stupid.
So is an illegal occupation and so is apartheid rule.

This is exactly the same thing that happened in 2021. Hundreds of settlers backed by the army marched on Al Aqsa mosque and Hamas responded by firing rockets. A few days ago 800 settlers backed by the army stormed the Al Aqsa. That's stupid.

You really want peace with MBS and Saudi Arabia, toguy? The last reports I heard was that Saudi had broken over talks because of the Palestinian 'problem', which includes a massive uptick in armed settler terrorist attacks throughout this year.

As basketcase just said:

This is why there will be more violence until international sanctions end Israeli apartheid.
That is the only solution to this violence left.

Protests and sanctions for equal rights.

This violence has been going on for a long time and its mostly committed by the occupying, colonial settlers.

I am never suprised when Franky tries to blame the Jews for everything.

First off, this was a highly coordinated attack which means it was not a spur of the moment decision.

Second, in what world is Jews quietly visiting their holy site as approved by the Islamic WAQF justify thousands of war crime rockets fired towards cities and abducting women and children to use as hostages.

And yes, you may pretend to be supporting Palestinians when you cheer for Jewish deaths but as long as the Palestinian leadership and a significant amount of the people believe violence is a solution, the Palestinian people will continue to be the losers in any fight.
