Is Escorting a Side Hustle?

Anything can be a side hustle. There are women doing SP work for many reasons. Education, to get luxuries, to get them out of debt or pay off fines. Many women do not stay in because they are terrible at what they do, some are pushed out by the new competition. There are some that are in for decades.
My guess is that like anything, it’s a spectrum.
On the high end, There are ladies that easily gross well into the six figures based on rates and volume (remember, there are real costs so the net can vary significantly based on consumables (eyelashes, nails, hair extensions, lingerie), occupancy costs, safety, advertising, and capex (breasts, bbl, etc).
Many of these ladies probably put a lot of work into their career as well in terms of services, working on what they do and how they do it, etc.
On the other end, there are absolutely ladies just doing it on the side to get the extra money they need for whatever they need it for (not going to pretend to be able to give examples given the wide range that it could be).
I like seeing any lady that enjoys what she does and puts effort into crafting a good experience with me regardless of where she is on the above spectrum. That said, I generally prefer ladies that see this as a career (whether short term or long term) because I think they generally put more into it and thus the repeat quality is higher.

yeah it just depends on the person, and the reason they're getting into it. some people do it because it's a means toward achieving a goal, others it's a viable career choice because they enjoy it/ it suits their hours/work style.
i think people in the industry feel judged if they tell people that this is their career and they don't have an "out" planned. i think many SWers feel social pressure to say that the work is only temporary, or a side hustle. because there's still a lot of stigma around choosing this path.

I would agree.
The stigma of being an older escort is that I have no other options. I must have gotten no education and be some life long welfare case with other means.
Not that I’m an established business owner doing this on the side to pad my retirement and get the male companionship I like without the hassle of dating.
For younger girls - they have to have an out plan because if they choose this then they must have drug issues or daddy issues or drug and daddy issues.
This is a job. No different than other jobs. People work different jobs for different reasons all the time. This industry is no different in that regard.
I think it is good that some/many/most ladies have a life outside of escorting.

I would love to do this as a side hustle and cater to older CEO-esque women who need to keep it hush hush because of their high position and the fact that their SO are never home. Ohh wait sorry....drifted into my fantasy world...

I do have SEC - sympathy, empathy and compassion for these type of people, But what make it sad is that they need the help. The ones who know that need the help don't ask for it.

I’ve met some whose full time job is escorting and others who do this as a side gig aside from their regular job to help pay for things she likes that she can’t afford through her job.
Just like hockey players, it's a short career and one should always plan for the day when the music stops, the bright lights dimmed and the phone no longer rings.

A majority of the SP's I have enjoyed my time were studying Psychology or Nursing. Also SP's with white-collar jobs (one was a former lawyer another worked in HR).
I am with her (mostly) and it really comes back to the spectrum I commented upon earlier. This is a profession. The men/women that do it are self employed. The professional career oriented ones end up with a lucrative business and retirement is understandably their exit plan. I have met woman in their late 40s and 50s that are clearly doing quite well. Not that they are bragging - it’s just obvious they they own multiple properties and have put their kids through undergrad (as an example) when you talk to them.
There are obviously people in the industry that are at the opposite end of the above spectrum (like any industry they outnumber the successful people), they have reasons for doing this that are too varied to list. Many of them should have an exit plan as they are not the self employed professionals that can succeed doing this.
My only contention is the fat cat CEO bit….nobody in this career is making 20m a year (or whatever) and getting stock options hahahaha.
