tbh my whole life in school i was taught israel were the good guys and palestine were the terrorists. but as smartphones proliferated i am beginning to see more of both sides especially on social media. what really hit me hard was when i was watching FIFA in qatar, how often i would see pro-palestine banners amongst the fans. it really makes me question that perhaps around the globe that we are really the minorities and most people actually see israel as the villain.
I have already told you that I'm not willing to discuss anything else until either:

I really didn't have a clue until I worked with a left leaning Jewish couple who put me on to Rachel Corrie and her story. Toronto's Jewish community seems split between the left wingers who cottage up at Camp Naivelt and the more Orthodox crowd. The crazy thing is that Israeli politicians have been warning the country for years they needed to settle for the two state solution but still more settlements just keep happening. Now its way beyond two states and its into a South African sanctions campaign to end apartheid. Farha and Mo on Netflix is the mainstream side while Amnesty, HRW's reports are changing the political side. Which is why people like shack and basketcase can't actually discuss the issues or possible ways forward, they are stuck in the past and trying to hold on to whatever hilltop they think they are entitled to.
