In the 70's there was a table display with different types of rocks that demonstrted different types of minerals.
Maybe this is what you were referring to?
Magic Rocks was a crystal growing kit. Just add water if I recall. Had this in the late 60’s.

Thanks for the post, but unfortunately that;s not it. The one I'm referring to was a rectangular cardboard with a backpiece to stand on a table. The cardboard had slits cut into it where you place the rocks, and the name of the rock was printed below. I think it was put out by a geological organization or the government. It wasn't sold as a toy.

does anyone remember this bit on Toronto television in the 80's which was just filmed by a camera man walking the streets of Toronto filming night time street scenes in Toronto.

I remember this well on Global TV. As a teenager living in the rural sticks at the time, I thought the nighttime scenes of Toronto were so urban and sophisticated, and especially the accompanying jazz music which was new to me. Several of these episodes are on You Tube, listed as Night Walk, Night Ride, and Night Moves. Fun trying to identify Toronto from the mid 80’s.

Cash registers and credit card readers before the digital era. Visa was still called Chargex. I suprisingly used the latter a few months ago when a restaurant's system was down. I had to show the restaurant staffer how to use it.

Jarry Park in Montreal. I was at this game, (opening day, 1970). I can tell because I recognize Bob Gibson on the mound for St Louis, (his delivery follow through was unique), and the line score on the scoreboard matches with the box score for that game at baseball-reference(dot)com.

Rusty Staub at bat, with Ron Fairly in the on deck circle.

I was sitting about 40 feet to the left of the lower left corner. I remember a guy in front of me was looking at the field through binoculars, then he unscrewed one of the lenses and drank from it.

What qualified as locally produced television, to satisfy the CRTC license conditions, if barely so.
