Who is going back to 1948?? Israeli Fundamentalists settlers have been ejecting these peaceful Palestinians from their homes, their farms and vineyards up to recent times!!
Many of these Palestinians have been beaten badly and some killed while The Israeli Police were standing by and just watching.
Which nation has been stateless for what is going to be almost 3/4 of a Century and then expect to live in Peace and controlled by another nation?
The quicker the Two State Solution is resolved the better. What about The West Bank that does not have a Terrorist Organization but a more respectable PLO?
Why has Israel just refused to grant them more Freedom?

Now I am denouncing both The Hamas for October 6th Killings as well as Israel. The ICC has got it spot on for Charging both Hamas and Netanyahu!!
Those 43,000 plus Palestinians, mainly women and children killed, the vast majority of them in Gaza without homes, basic food and medicine as well as not only injuries with loss of limbs and some other life threatening ones, but also children who have lost their parents, siblings and have nowhere to go.
Canada like the vast majority of Nations around the Globe have made the right decision to uphold The ICC Ruling!!
You didn't answer the question.
What did Hamas think would happen when they attacked Israel on Oct 7th the way they did?

Bonus question: Why do Palestinians allow Hamas to hide with civilians and putting them in harms way as a result?

NaD's main point was the ratios and how Israel has tried to be careful. Do you know if the ratios have changed?
If you take Hamas' ratio, there are over 900 Israeli Military Casualties and around 1,700 Israeli Citizens killed.
Mathematically, this on paper looks like a less innocuous ratio. But Hamas is charged with similar crimes.
The ICC took everything into account before coming to their decision!!

However:
A study from the Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs at Brown University, the most conservative estimate that they could calculate based on the available data was at least 62,413 deaths in Gaza from starvation (most of them young children) and at least 5,000 deaths from lack of access to care for chronic diseases.
There are still thousands that are unaccounted for with some buried deep in the rubble from the infrastructure destructions!!
That is why the ratio is flawed in this respect!!

Listen, why do you keep on asking some ridiculous questions the whole time?
Am I supposed to read Hamas' POV? Why did the Israeli army not act far quicker when Hamas was there for hours on end?
Several questions need to be addressed in the manner in which the Netanyahu Govt. responded or lack of it on that day.
Do you think that if Hamas was holding the Israelis hostage in the Israeli hospitals, then the Israeli IDF would have acted in the same manner by razing these hospitals to the ground?

How is it a "distraction" when I am on the same topic.
If I asked you about Netanyahu and why he did not get the IDF to respond right away when the October 6th Hamas attack was taking place, could you respond to it?

The question he asked was actually a rhetorical one. The answer is obvious. Hamas, and Iran, clearly knew that Israel would respond massively. Everybody knew. That was all part of their plan. They wanted to derail the Israeli/Saudi normalization talks as well as hope for massive civilian losses so as to demonize Israel to the world. That is why Hamas built tunnels for themselves to hide in, yet refused access to Gazans, on top of not building shelters for the civilians and hiding under schools and in hospitals. Hamas intentionally put the civilians in harm's way in an extremely densely populated area.

The fact remains that, despite what the raw numbers are, Israel has done an exemplary job of avoiding as many Gazan civilians as they have. More than any other nation in over 100 years of modern warfare.

Netanyahu knew and decided to send the IOF away from Gaza.
He wanted a war to save his career from corruption charges.

He could have stopped it if he wanted on Oct 7.
Now he's wanted globally as a war criminal.

BS.

Regardless, Hamas was hellbent on slaughtering as many innocent Israelis as possible. The aftershocks were fully anticipated. Hamas was looking for slaughter and the concomitant reprisals. That was their goal and they got what they were looking for. Is that a problem for you?

Any reason that you seem a bit subdued this evening, Geno? Have you been chastised?

Netanyahu could have stopped it but he needed something to stall the corruption court case.
You know that

It's a distraction because rather than answering the question you ignored it and just asked your own question without providing an answer.
Hamas planned the attack for some time and had the element of surprise on their side. It didn't just spontaneously happen.
Israel didn't have the luxury of planning a counter attack ahead of time but responded immediately. Is that "right away" enough for you? Or do you want to distract more?

btw it was Oct 7th not Oct 6th. Can you at least get your facts straight?

Like I predicted. A nonsensical non-sequitur.

You're incapable of an actual intellectual discussion.
Sometimes when Frankfooter is juggling his multiple handles, he doesn't have time to type more than a few words as he bounces from one to another.
It's how he passes the time while waiting for his social assistance cheque to come in.
