Since you are addressing me, I will respond. I have tried to offer commentary supporting specific cases against Trump. I just don't run with the let's carpet bomb Trump. I can't get excited about every case.

I am also not excited about the prospect of Hunter going to jail. If Joe Biden and Trump are incapacitated in their reelection bids that would be a win-win in my book.
Fair. I just see a lot problems with both sides of the political elite.

What is the outcome you are hoping for?

Well that did it, I am not voting for Hunter Biden now.

I am so glad Donald Trump doesn't take in foreign money and won't have his relatives working gov't positions!

The government empowering a special council for Hunter is stupid. Okay, in a sensible world it's a good way of trying to show transparency and equal-handedness. But in the insane MAGA world type politics, it will simply allow the GOP shills to claim that Trump's crimes are comparable to Hunter Biden's grifting.

You seem to be relying on polls, so I posted a poll to show you that Biden with a 40% approval rating was technically ahead of Trump with a 39.7% approval rating. I also showed you how Trump was the front runner amongst Republicans using the same source. So the republican front runner is behind the incumbent. Technically.

I however dont trust polls. It has always been broken. It misled in 2016, when every poll showed Hillary winning. Then in 2020 it showed Biden having a large lead over Trump but elections showed it was much closer than that.

So if the polling today is showing you that Trump and Biden are neck and neck....well am not buying it. Especially with how Trump at his height of popularity was voted out, and is currently in legal turmoil and deeply more unpopular to the extent that many former Trump supporters are disillusioned with him.

The bottom line is Biden is the incumbent. Incumbents are and have historically been hard to beat and the only time in recent times they have been beaten is when the challenger was immensely more popular and charismatic like Reagan, Clinton or appeared more sane, like Biden. In Trump's case, we have an insane guy voted out at the height of his popularity, currently facing all kinds of legal trouble, and still polling below Biden. Putting all that together, it tells me that, come 2024, Biden will most likely have the upper hand. (And the orange clown will most likely be in orange overalls lol).
There is pretty a much a consistency in the failure of the polls. Of about 3-5% in favor of the Dems. The reason it is believed is two fold. The first is conservatives are less likely to answer them. The other is independents may vote conservative, but don't want to tell anyone. So may even lie. This was considered true even in exit polling.

So while, coupled with normal margin of error they will be off, just add 3% safely or 5% pessimisticly and you will be closer.

And I don’t think you can place Trump in with any other historical precedent. He keeps on defying the odds, turning normal campaigning on it's head, and still gets ahead. One commentor I saw talked about how a large part of the base just want him to piss off liberals and MSM. And they are good.

I truly wonder how things would have turned out in 2020 if covid hadn't curtailed live campaigning. It definitely would have been even closer. This cycle Biden will have no choice but to do it. And stump speeches in the internet age won't cut it.

I don't think any committee was created to investigate Hunter. There is a Jordan-led Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government. This subcommittee is dealing with censorship and suppression of political viewpoints. I don't believe that Subcommittee is directly involved in the Hunter Biden legal situation.

I'm sure various Republican Congressman including Jordan have had opinions on Hunter, but that is politics. It is kind of like the Head of the Intelligence Committee saying he had evidence of Trump's collusion with Russia.
"Sub committee on the weaponization of the federal government"??!?!?!?!?.... 😹 😹 😹 :geek: :D 🙈 😧

Because the Orange Obese Orangutan is actually, finally getting charged criminally for all the shit he pulled???.... The GOP has become that Sad Bullshit Party.

I think this explained the surprise Trump victory in 2016. It varies from election to election. You can't run a shitty candidate and rely on statistical polling glitches to predict a win.

As I said in another post, much of the "trailer trash dumdum" element of the GOP voter base sees politics as a giant WWE match where they root for a hero and he takes down his villainous opponents. Pissing off the woketards is just part of that shtick.

I truly wonder how things would have turned out in 2020 if covid hadn't curtailed live campaigning. It definitely would have been even closer. This cycle Biden will have no choice but to do it. And stump speeches in the internet age won't cut it.
By the same token, Trump 3 elections in a row is pretty stale. He's no longer the "big new thing". He's a recycled loser fuckup that 20% of the electorate can't let go of.

Fox should fire her, already. Send Jessica over to CNN or CNBC!!
She's on Fox to create conflict and thus increase viewer involvement. Guys like you watch to hate her and hope that she gets verbally beaten and humiliated.

Mitch would never do that. He is secretly betrothed to Marje Green.

I see how this discussion is going. No matter what information I present you just waive it off and double down on your premise.

You just posted a poll, but you just told me........."Polls are nothing to rely on when it comes to elections and it is still early days."

So if polls are back into the discussion, why are Biden and Trump neck and neck in the polling if Joe is so popular? The math and Biden's popularity doesn't add up.

Each poll is slightly different and most give Biden a slight lead. The Red states and the rural areas in most states vote GOP. Cities vote Dem. So the election is usually close, regardless of the qualities of the candidate.

Biden won by a couple of % points in 2020. It translated into a significant EC edge because that's how US politics works.

If you knew anything about US politics, you would understand this. But more knowledgeable people have to "help" you with even basic information.

Mitchy, how do you explain the fact that the Republicans demanded Weiss be made HB special counsel last year. When Garland did what the GOP asked, the GOP then called it a "coverup".

This is transparent fuckery by the GOP, isn't it Mitch?

The GOP loses half of MAGA if the rapist gets locked up.

Back to Hunter, this is what his lawyer says about Weiss and the DOJ in court.

“One, they wrote something and weren’t clear what they meant. Two, they knew what they meant and misstated it to counsel. Or third, they change their view as they were standing in court in Delaware,” Lowell said, speaking of the DOJ prosecutors.

You say potato. That has been the focus of committee and in the usual fashion of the projection segment of the GOP a committee on the weaponization of the DOJ is in fact weaponizing the congress for the purpose of softening up Joe for the benefit of the chosen one.
It's kind of like the round and round in this thread above over whether Joe Biden is popular. A member might have very strong opinions on some things, but that doesn't make tangible evidence. In this case, there is currently no special committee investigating Hunter Biden.

The Jim Jordan-led Weaponization of the the Federal Government subcommittee is dealing with the censorship and suppression of conservative views in social media and elsewhere among other things unrelated to Hunter Biden. The suppression of the Hunter Biden laptop story in 2020 is just one part of the committee's subjects. Remember we were debating journalist Matt Taibbi's testimony to the subcommittee that he was visited by IRS agents.

Investigating suppression of the laptop story by social media in 2020 has been incidental to Hunter's tax issues. The laptop and the contents itself are not being investigated by the Jordan subcommittee.

The whistleblowers (yeah, that nuisance to whatever arguments some here are making) testified to the House Oversight Committee which is a decades old committee. The House Oversight Committee speaking with Federal whistleblowers in not outside protocol.

I will have to say like I said to Frank......if you choose your words poorly and/or make a point that doesn't really land correctly, there is no dishonor by simply saying.........Okay, there was no special House committee created to investigate Hunter, but Republican Congressmen are publicly talking about Hunter Biden's legal case far too much and making specious accusations.

To refresh your memory these were your words regarding the Hunter Biden legal situation:
When you create a congressional committed it is by definition political and that is the only reason for this one. To suggest otherwise is absurd.
