No hun, I retired.

I still visit because it is about the only place I have friends I can talk to about the issues you live with having been an SP.
Lucky you. It pays to have a pussy. When women complain about equal rights, you probably kick back, have a look at hubby's bank account statement, log into TERB, take a sip of your $40 latte, and laugh aloud.

Make a game out of saving your money to keep it interesting.....my dad taught me that.Make every purchase like the deal of the century, and always look around for a better price.Treat your income like it's own micro business..because that's what it is.I'm making between 45,000- 60,000k a year right now and i can retire in 5-7 years if I wish.Like your job.....because if you hate it....you tend to spend more money enjoying life in other ways.

Most feminists are just ugly women anyway. My boyfriend takes good care of me and worships the ground I walk on.

Funny how someone who had such a short time being an SP and 1 actual client she got married to ended up with "issues you live with having been an SP"

I know, I know, like with every other issue with fictional characters that doesn't add up, a wizard did it.

Frink: "Yes, over here, [...] in Episode BF12, you were battling barbarians while riding a winged Appaloosa, yet in the very next scene, my dear, you're clearly atop a winged Arabian! Please do explain it!
Lucy Lawless: Uh, yeah, well, whenever you notice something like that... a wizard did it.
Frink: Yes, alright, yes, in episode AG04-"
Lucy Lawless: Wizard!
well fat, you try working your head around letting ugly socially undesirable men have you so you can get out of debt, it will leave you with issues. Go from throwing up on a plane on your way to your first session, to liking the guy you are with, and then you are falling in love with him, you have issues. Marry a guy twice your age and who used to hire you for sex, and you discover there are issues. Life brings issues. Maybe you need to try life ?

You still throw up before and after having sex with your 'mature' husband, you just do it a lot less. Money has that effect on women.

Reward yourself for success. For example, if I get one of 3 jobs I am trying to get, I get to but myself a 06 or 07 Porsche 911.....

There's some good ideas in this thread. Thanks all. Now let's hear from the folks who didn't work hard and live frugally. I'm looking to cut some corners :)

Sounds like a good reason to start another thread.

Spent half my life in school. Spent a quarter of my life as an investment banker working ridiculous hours just to steal people's life savings. Since I gave that up, I've been a securities litigator crushing people's souls. The soul crushing gig is a lot less time consuming, pays well and is often entertaining. I, of course, have no soul to crush ...

Phoenix and Las Vegas were two of the hardest hit markets in the US housing crash. The good news is that they have both seemed to have hit bottom in terms of months of inventory for sale and sale price per sq ft. Phoenix as an example is between $70-$80 per sq foot for your standard planned community 3-5 BR house in a suburb. Yup, that's right... a 3000 sq ft house going for under $250K. If you have some cash and can stand to hold onto the property for 5 years, there's alot of money to be made.
Interesting. Any good resources for Canadians wanting to buy property down there? (Getting a mortgage, finding a property manager, any gotcha's with particular areas..)
I'm willing to do the work/research to do it right.. but I fear most of the information I come across is more scammy get-rich-quick! type deals..

The big issue with him was feeling like his property. But he made it clear that I was his partner in life. It just took me a while to accept it.

Well I did start throwing up recently and he is indeed the cause of the problem.. Power, style, money, and intelligence are all huge turn-ons for some of us. Money is mostly just one factor.

For one, be a bit obsessive with eliminating recurring expenses...

hello MrsCALoki ... hows that going? ( wouldn't call it a problem as much as a gift )

I am a little frightened by the entire idea, but very happy at the same time. LL is over joyed and busy trying to decide where 'we' should have the baby. I am trying to decide between getting a nanny or a house keeper (boat keeper?). All in all, I think this mother hood thing should be the best thing imaginable.

Do be frightened, think of it as a gaurantee
If you divorce, you will get half of his money
Having a baby is quite a joy
What do you prefer, a girl or boy?

For me, the question is more like "How could you get rich?".
And the answer is - stop hobbying for a couple of months!

where .. like what country? or like hospital or midwife? lol ... those are both big decisions. It absolutely IS one of the best things imaginable ...

THANK YOU to all the great posters in this thread ... some of these ideas I already practice, some are new. Very good thread!!
What country and city for now. Hospital or midwife or water birth we can think about in the fall. LL is busy plotting our child's nationality. I am nervous of living on this tiny boat with a new born. But for now we are playing it by ear.

Ok, here is an issue. Given house costs, what is rich now days? a few million including real-estate is just upper middle class. I know the 200 foot yachts anchored in Bermuda were part of the 'Rich', but where to you go from comfortable to rich?

Real estate, cars, and yachts, I know that's the pitch
But all that matters is if you're truly happy, and if you are then you're rich
