I would say the best was when the net wasn't main stream but just starting cause you had the best of both worlds. The nice thing back then, there was way less BS to sift through. It was way more straight forward. There was a few bait and switches, but mostly the real deal at fair prices. When things started to cross over to the net it was still great. For example there was a site called the redzone. It so raw and gritty, but it had pics of the girls with their numbers and you could hear a recording of them.

I'm at the point where I'm completely turned off by the hobby at this point and quite possibly will never see an SP ever again.
I remember the Red Zone being a telephone directory as well. You would call the Red Zone number and listen to the voice ads.
I brought in a Now to work back in the mid 80's, a co worker never saw one before, told her it was a new mag about local happenings in culture and entertainment, later that day I caught her looking at the ads in the back, LOL!

In 1998, I booked an Indy outcall through an ad in NOW magazine. It was Asia Lee, who was later at CachetLadies for many years. She was about 18-19 at the time, and her brother was her driver for appointments.
$200 ? I did about 7 or 8 appts in the late 90s (incall for $200 per hour I think) without seeing any pics and overall was disappointing then around 2000-2001 the agencies starting having websites and it got better from there
LMFAO. I used Now mag too, once I ran into another employee at work who grabbed a copy on his way back from lunch break,
we looked at each other and nodded, we should have compared notes haha.
I remember those days and today's is much better. I remember business trips to Montreal where you would browse through the well worn Escort section of the Yellow Pages and look for a reputable agency. (No Terb validation existed in those days). I recall some agencies specialized in local French, MILF's, or Asian depending on what I was feeling like. You would phone them from your hotel room, give a name and Room number, and they would call back to ensure it was a legitimate set up. Cumbersome, but it worked, and generally the talent met expectations because the good agencies were in the Yellow Pages for awhile.

I don't understand your post. Your saying today is much better, but then follow it buy saying the escorts you got from the yellow pages back then met expectations and all you had to do was call and give your hotel room number and they would call back to verify. That's hardly cumbersome compared to the bullshit you have to deal with today.

I never used Yellow pages but I think around 2000 when some websites started to appear I used redzone, Toronto Exotics and I think there was a site called CityLove or something. I went in blind about 6 times (2 were nice, 4 weren't) and I met a lady who was a good performer but used pics that were of her 20 years previously.
Always a bit more of gamble then it got better around 2001 as more agencies had websites. I don't think today is better in terms of talent. The best years were 2003-2019.
Anybody remember the CanBest board? I think it disappeared sometime around 2006. I remember it had many positive endorsements for a Montreal agency named Les Filles de Monsieur Jacques.
I think your a little high with 2019. I would say more like 2000-2012. Right around then was the pinnacle.
Now that was a mine field. Taking a shot in the dark and hoping for the best that the experience is not like today’s LL providers
