Stewart presents his point for comedic effect, but it doesn't stand up to serious scrutiny. The argument that he makes is that the tight gun control states can't stem their disproportionate crime rates because criminals illegally obtain their guns, often from states where gun sales are easier to arrange. However, he neatly jumps over the point that it is not legal in those states to export guns to other states which would prohibit their purchase.![]()

Same holds true here. Liberals go after guns, and everything else, but not the problems, and those smuggling them in. Then seem shocked or in denial when our crime rates go up.Stewart presents his point for comedic effect, but it doesn't stand up to serious scrutiny. In other words, it takes criminals in red states to sell to criminals in blue states to export guns to the latter.
However, none of that explains why the guns are used FOR MORE CRIME in the blue states. Guns don't make people criminals. Criminals seek out guns. Stewart ignores what the real problem is - there is something fundamentally flawed in the laws/social circumstances of these high crime blue states that politicians are supposed to address, but don't. Instead they focus on the presence of guns.
No. He nailed it. And you being a Conservative refusing to acknowledge what he calls out is quite accurate. We already knew it… he just addresses it in a way that makes it easy to spot.Stewart presents his point for comedic effect, but it doesn't stand up to serious scrutiny. Lol…. You need an explanation as to why there is more gun crime in NY than Arkansas? Really? That is where you are taking this?Stewart presents his point for comedic effect, but it doesn't stand up to serious scrutiny. Didn't you read what I said? It seems like you thought I was denying that guns were originating from other states. I wasn't. The point I was making was about why there is so much demand for these illegal guns in blue states. That's the point he so conveniently ignores.No. He nailed it. And you being a Conservative refusing to acknowledge what he calls out is quite accurate. We already knew it… he just addresses it in a way that makes it easy to spot.
Calling it comedic affect is a deflection. Plain and simple. The guns are coming from the States getting rid of gun control laws.
I don't need an explanation, but perhaps Stewart does.Lol…. You need an explanation as to why there is more gun crime in NY than Arkansas? Really? That is where you are taking this?
That's like saying "Don't confiscate drugs. Just eliminate the reasons that people use drugs."Same holds true here. Liberals go after guns, and everything else, but not the problems, and those smuggling them in. Then seem shocked or in denial when our crime rates go up.
Providing I’m reading that right. That’s like saying. “Don’t target dealers, just pour all kinds of money into safe sites” the liberal way that’s clearly not working either. That's like saying "Don't confiscate drugs. Just eliminate the reasons that people use drugs."

That’s close enough.No. It's like saying: Liberals go after guns, and everything else, but not the problems, and those smuggling them in.
TBH, I could be wrong if you actually are in favour of reducing the number of guns.
Poverty and income inequality lead to crime.Conservatives don't enable violent crime that's silly.
Liberals enable violent crime though several mechanisms
1. labelling police as racist
2. pushing an equity agenda through backing of liberal DA's
3. extra credit given for pre trial custody i.e. 2 for 1
4. parole after 1/3 sentence
5. general hug a thug mentality
6. open borders
You could not be in more denial. Liberals want to make it harder for criminals to get guns. Conservatives are the bribe… I mean political contribution list of the gun lobby. It’s not even a secret. Lol.Conservatives don't enable violent crime that's silly.

How’s that been working in Canada Poker. The “same” dynamic Stewart is showing/mocking is essentially what’s occurring here. Has been for 10-20 years. In fact, not only are our gun controls stricter, our firearms laws are federal as opposed to a mish mash of State laws. You could not be in more denial. Conservatives enable violent crime. They they just refuse to accept responsibility.
No, Toronto is one of the safest cities in North America. Canada is way safer than the US, less violent crime as you well know. How’s that been working in Canada Poker. Today, not only are gangs, drug and gun smuggling a growing problem in the GTA, when people are being gunned down, hooked on Opiods by those out on bail, given slaps on the wrist. And human trafficking a swept under the rug problem… they are spreading out..
If you have stats that show our violent crime rates , are going down rather than up..by all means show them. Or that the opioid crises is improving rather than getting much worse..
It's weird how anti drugs the GOPee is yet 25 times more people die from guns than from heroin each year. Maybe the solution is more heroin and no laws ? The red states turn a blind eye to gun trafficking and encourage everyone to stock up then wonder why their murder rates are so much higher than any other 1st world country. It's not rocket science
More than one million people have died since 1999 from a drug overdose.1 In 2021, 106,699 drug overdose deaths occurred in the United States. The age-adjusted rate of overdose deaths increased by 14% from 2020 (28.3 per 100,000) to 2021 (32.4 per 100,000).
On a per capita basis, there were 14.6 gun deaths per 100,000 people in 2021 – the highest rate since the early 1990s, but still well below the peak of 16.3 gun deaths per 100,000 people in 1974.
Reading comprehension isn't your strong suit obviously. I didn't say drug overdose I said heroin.
