How can I volunteer in the adult industry?

For spas and agencies you could be a driver I guess.

As much as I would love a helping hand with the cleaning and laundry in between clients, I/we can’t have you up in the unit while the customer is showering lol

What you might like to do is offer some photography services at nightclubs in Toronto for free. There are pretty bottle service girls and stuff there too. Plus the female patrons.

I’ve never worked in porn so can’t speak on it haha. Maybe you could do photoshoots for indies

Easier said than done. How do I find a production? I can't just google "porn shoots Toronto" and then expect to waltz onto set.

You dont voluteer for porn you volunteer for films.
Your be asked for porn in a couple of weeks if your any good.
Showcase for example, had you been interning with them, did a show about making porn and you now be in the porn biz.
W, women channel. back in the day. used to do a porn thing about once a year. I remember lots of SWs from tdot who where in it.
Porn has the problem its hard for them to get talented people because of the stigma and restrictions it causes for main stream productions. Nobody cares about interns.

However, many jobs photography, grip etc are union area and volunteering in some fields will get you blacklisted.
The largest porn production I know of in Toronto ever had over 1000 volunteers but most did not know they where doing porn.

Thank you for this post! One of the few people on the thread who actually gave real advice. I agree with you, it'll be tough but at least there's some real ideas here and actionable steps.
It's just about getting your foot in the door so you can meet the right people.

Ah, okay. I guess I can give that a shot. It might help with portfolio-building which is another good result of volunteering.

I've tried casually in the past to make some "soft adult content", like I wanted to hire a model to order pizza and then answer the door nude when accepting the pizza. I assumed the shoot would take 1-hour start to finish and I was offering $400 flat rate but nobody seemed interested. I assume it was because I had no portfolio or showreel to add credibility to myself when recruiting. When actresses are looking for work they want to work with huge production houses that will give them a trailer and connections with big-name producers, not some dolt with a camera like me (lol). Even when I messaged girls offering they would click on my profile and see no "previous body of work", which was probably an issue. But how do you build that initial portfolio? Get out there and film whatever you can.
