7 batters. 6 outs. 1 walk.

The eighth was a 1-2-3. Nineth, close but no cigar. Hmmmm. All right. 5 out of 16. If he'd allowed 2 baserunners, I don't think I'd cave on that one.
That was on the 15th of June.
Next save was good, 6 out of 17.
Next save was good, 7 out of 18.
Wed night, save with a walk, 7 out of 19.
Last night, save with 3 hits, 7 out of 20.

What am I missing?

Just got back from the dome. Great day to take in a game and a satisfying result.

"Step right up and greet the Mets!
Bring your kiddies,
bring your wife;
Guaranteed to have the time of your life
because the Mets are really sockin’ the ball; knocking those home runs over the wall!
East side,
West side,
everybody’d coming down
to meet the M-E-T-S Mets of New York town!"

PS ~ Yes .. I was the one singing.

Get rid of Rod Black pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease. The dickhead keeps on talking during the pitch to Vernon Wells.. stops as Wells hits a routine pop fly... but ole Roddy shouts out "Wells" as if he hit it to the glorious heavens where unicorns and flowers well come shinning down on him with rainbows and glory. Seconds later its caught to which Black says seconds later... " he just missed that one".... fuck off with you Rod. You make me wish for Fergie Oliver again

okay Shack a friend of mine just pointed this out to me....

1- B.J. Ryan came in to pitch in the bottom of the 8th with 1 out and he pitched the whole 9th as well for the save.......therefore, he pitched 1 2/3 innings and he retired the first three batters before allowing a hit..........soooooooooooo that means he retired all 3 batters in the one inning he pitched.

BTW Reed Johnson just makes things happen when he is out there he is a great all around player

5 strikeouts in a row - batters all swinging at strikes. He must give everyone such confidence. Bullpen is now much stronger generally with one or two exceptions. :D

I didn't see the game. Did he allow a hit in the 8th or 9th. If it was in the 8th, then the 9th was a 1-2-3 inning. If the hit was in the 9th, then neither inning was a 1-2-3. Regardless, 5 out of 6 is good enough for me. 9/22.

You really should be more careful in wording your bets. If somebody wanted to be a real stickler and adhere strictly to your stated parameter of 1-2-3, you'd be losing the bet. I'm just a softie.

How many official at-bats is Johnson short of to be included with the league leaders? .373 ain't too shabby.

Looking at some stats in the paper today, I see Johnson is at .374 and has 186 at bats but is not listed in the AL top 10. His average would rank him 2nd behind Mauer's .391. The lowest # of at bats I see of the top 10 is Trot Nixon with 240 so Johnson can't be too far off. How do they decide how many at bats are required for a batter to qualify?

Two runs and 3 hits for B.J. is neither perfect nor 1-2-3 regardless that he pitched 1 1/3. 9 for 23, back below 40%.

BTW, the Blue Jays magic number to beat Boston for the division is 131 and to close out the Yankees it's 127. Let the countdown begin.:D

he really had me worried last night.......but is good to see him and the other Jays winning and being recognized by their peers for their success I hope they make us proud at the All Star, I also look forward to seeing Troy at the Home Run Derby
