Salsamarc and Shack......A save, is a save, is a save, is a save....:D

Who would of thought that they would be a game back at this point in the season. We all hoped at the beginning of the year, but it's nice to actually see it.

Baseball can be dreadfully boring to watch when your team is out of the race and the games are meaningless. Having your team fight for the lead makes every game, inning, at bat important and tense. Loving it so far.

In spite of all the things that have gone wrong this year (injuries, inconsistent and overworked bullpen, reworked middle infield) we're one game back and we haven't even put together one good winning streak yet. Every team has their troubles over 162 games. Even if they don't make the playoffs we should get an entertaining season.

Fantasy baseball is pretty much what gives me any desire to follow baseball.

But the Jays are entertaining, and the Skydome, oops Rogers Center, has had the most HR's hit their in the majors.

this is about a bet me and one Ranger made early this season......I said that Ryan would be perfect 40% of the time

when it comes to Home runs you knew Wells and Glaus were going to hit them but did you expect this kind of numbers from the rest of the team?
specially Rios (I hope this is not going to be his one and only year he is young and has shown a lot of potential)

Well it's the batters who are losing the game for the Jays tonight. Lots of men on base and no clutch hitting. Wells has been struck out 4 times!

Taubenheim was very good, as was Chulk in relief

Shame the Jays drew Florida who look like making it 6 wins in a row now. :(

It was disappointing to see their last hopes riding on a .167 vs. lefties hitter (Russ Adams). Were there no other options.

Vernon looked sooo bad tonight. 4 strikeouts. Isn't that a golden sombrero?

Just to add to the information on Wells. If anyone had been watching the game on the graphics version of mlb.com they would have seen all of the first 3 strikeouts were achieved in the same fashion - Olsen pitching (sliders) low and Wells swinging and missing balls outside of the strike zone. You would have though a great batter like that would have adapted better?

Jays 0 - 4 in interleague this year. :(

more than 1/3 of the season in I can admit that my prediction that the Jays would regret overpaying for B.J. Ryan looks a bit off right now.

Half way through and Jays down 3 - 1 with Halladay pitching. 6 hits each, but Jays LOB 18 versus 6 for the Marlins says it all.

Jays need a Scot Shields like pitcher in the bullpen...or else you can declare this season over. They're going to have to surpass Boston/NewYork/Detroit/Chicago to get AL East or the Wild Card. And unfortunately they are not better than any of those teams.

why is it that Shack is never around whenever BJ gets a perfect inning????
Hey. I was at work all day and then went to Second City tonight (very funny show). I noticed he went 1 1/3 last night and was gonna post. I also noticed he gave up a walk tonight. Is that now 7 out of 19? If he gets the next one that would be exactly 40%.

BTW, you should stop using the word perfect because your bet was on the # of 1-2-3 innings, not perfect outings. They are not necessarily the same.

AJ Burnett looked impressive last night. The 2 runs he gave up might not have scored on another evening, and one of them looked like an error by Hillenbrand. Shame he didn't pick up the win. It's now a case of 'so far so good'. :D

I think getting the win is secondary to him getting through 90 pitches pain free. Let's hope he's good to go for the rest of the season and his contract. Nice comebackby the Jays. They needed it.

Ryan: 7 of 20.

that was a complete team effort by the Jays. Burnett did his part, he kept the game as close as he can and the bat just didn't help out until the later part of the game and rallied for him, than you got Ryan who sealed the deal but that throw by Zaun to catch the runner stealing was the biggest play of the game i'm pretty sure he would scored around on the next batter, but Ryan so far has been worth every single penny!
