Is it true that Samsung make the best HD TV? I am thinking of something in the 30" to 40" range. Heard that the Samsung 40" model number LN40A530 is an excellent set. Any advice?
Is a PC connection port standard on all HD TV's? Or, do you have to check each specific model?Radio_Shack said:I use the 32" as a Computer monitor as well.
I heard that plasmas burn out (i.e. they die) quickly. True?mmouse said:Pioneer plasmas are widely considered to be the best in terms of picture quality.

Alwasy safer to check for the vga port cuz they may not all have one but I think most do these days. I use DVI->HDMI port not vga and all LCDs have these. Only way to get native resolution is to use HDMI.Rockslinger said:Is a PC connection port standard on all HD TV's? Or, do you have to check each specific model?

I think I can get a Samsung for the same price. I was shopping around yesterday and the discounting among the retailers is brutal. (Why can't dancers do the same discounting. Hint, hint.)danmand said:Best Buy has a toshiba 40' 1080 15,000:1 contrast for $799.

Depends who you speak to but I was told go with Samsung or Panasonic. This whole HD TV thing is so confusing. Since I am currently "between projects" and have time but no money, I thought I would spend my time watching HD TV.danmand said:Is a samsung better quality?
Many HD tv's have 60 hz refresh, 120hz is an upgrade, so be careful. The faster the refresh, the less ghosting.rayfinkel said:The best TVs for watching live sports are plasmas.
LCD TVs have 120Hz refresh rate and Plasmas have 480Hz.
Someone else might explain it better.
It has to do with the blur behind a fast moving object on the screen.
The higher the refresh rate the sharper the picture.
A saleman told me that the Sony is a Sony in name only. Apparently, everything in a Sony is made by other companies. Did somebody say that Sony charges an outrageous price for some kind of cable?Manji said:Sony Bravia is supposed to be the best
