Nice to know that the political answer to a pig farm full of corpses is to try and push the industry further into the shadows. When the next field full of bodies shows up (and if this is their plan, it will) I wonder what the new plan will be then, stiffer penalties for parole violations?
Let's say the alarm clock is rining and you need to explain your words

Actually a conservative wants to fix all based on their moral beliefs, regardless if it works or not

Actually it is the liberals telling people what we think..unless we are asked about a personal prefrence.......reality is profits would drop if we pushed our beliefe as the liberals do.

ok, I get it now

considering the nature of the board we are on, you are more than willing to blind yourself to what conservatives are because you like their tax policies as it affects your selfish profits :)

Christ I wish you would learn to spell.

If you identify yourself as a CONSERVATIVE, I always figure you should know how to at least spell it.

like I said, your are blinding yourself

I happen to like many of the conservative tax initiatives, however I would not even remotely categorize myself as an conservative and I certainly would not defend other conservative initatives just because I happen to like their tax policies

Many of the recommendations in the committee report are well founded, except for making it a criminal offence to purchase sex. Many of the witnesses deal with street prostitution side of the equation. I do not recall too many witnesses discussing that there are actually very well run agencies and many independents who would not consider themselves being exploited.

And how have those laws curtailed prostitution in the states?

It is sad how politicians as a group cannot come up with real solutions to protect women and men when it comes to prostitution related issues.

The fact that this committee recommended that buying sex should be a criminal offence means that they just do not get it as to why prostitutes are victimized by the criminal element, ie pimps and traffickers.

Did they ever consider that if the created a legal, safe environment for women and men to engage in prostitution that maybe they would curtail the illegal environment?

We leave the laws up to the States and not the Federal Government. Before you grouse you need to know the facts

What are the chances that something like this will actually become law?? We're not living in the Victorian era... Even if it did, I think the cops would have a difficult time busting outcalls. Another waste of already strained resources, if you ask me. Let's all vote Liberal in the next election... I miss Paul Martin. :(

only a conservative would resort to nitpicking when they are wrong, well actually alot of people do :)

as a conservative would you support Harper and his gang if they followed the committee's recommendations, including making it illegal for a person to pay for sex

and regardless if it is a state or federal responsibility in the US (your nitpicky issue), has those laws curtailed prostitution and protected women, which is the real isue

and finally, can you be a conservative when it comes to tax reforms but a liberal when it comes to moral and social issues, or is it a perequisite that all conservatives stick their heads up their asses to smell the roses

If it can be come law in Sweden, it can become law here also. Don't forget that the liquor laws in Ontario are modelled after Sweden.

The tradical prostitution laws in Swededn 1999, were a result of an alliance between conservative and feminists (or are they one and the same?).

I will. JaJa has hijack another thread with junk posts for a higher post count.

The Harper Government is a minority, let's make them lower than that come the next election. Going against prostitution is just political garbage like flag-burning. It won't pass, but is pushed for media sound-bite scores in the hopes to keep as many seats as possible. Already Bush Jr. can't help Harper. Liberals in '08!!! Hillary in '08!!! We're in to win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
