So I was parked in a parking lot waiting for the wife, picking her up at work, a couple of weeks ago. Everything was fine until a guy wanted to leave his spot.
I will tell you that I was not exactly legally parked. Now because of the make up of this plaza the parking rows are uneven near the door of her place of work, so I was parked on a striped sort of 'no parking' area. The way I was parked forced this guy to back out unless I moved, that is what he wanted me to do. He taps his horn and I looked over and see that he is looking at me. After a few seconds I go back to what I was doing when he taps his horn again, this time with a hand gesture indicating that he wanted me to move so he did not have to back up. I ignored him. I hear his car door open and first thing I think is here we go, but he does not get out just does the hand gesture again. I let him know he should back out and that I am not about to move.
That is when he kind of took leave of his senses. He starts yelling in a heavy Euro accent "Fucking idiot" and then would spit from his open door while sitting in the drivers seat. Hear is the funny part, he was spitting on the inside of his drivers side window. "Fucking idiot" then spit about ten times, all landing on the inside of his window. I could not stop laughing.

Yes I could have moved, but this guy was rude from the start.

You should have moved. You were a jerk. He didn't start out rude--he tapped his horn to get your attention. At that point if you weren't a jerk you would have moved.

I was kind of perpared for opinion to go this way. I even secertly predicted Fuji would respond as he did.
Regardless I got a good laugh out of it. No matter how mad I get I will not spit on my own window. lol

While it is not an actual parking spot I made sure to be out of the driveway.

Agreed!! Too many idiots that think they can do what they want and not worry about others. Entitlement of some people kills me. Doubt the OP figured there would be so many thinking he was the idiot but yes, Its true.

just a thought here but since you knew you were parked illegally, why not back up let him out then pull into his legal spot ? no fuss and it would have given you something to do while waiting.

You knew you were not parked properly.......you could have easily just moved out of the way and be courteous but noooooooooooo, you were just being a prick.

The other guy didn't start out yelling and swearing at you, he wasn't rude from the start as you claim........ you're lack of consideration and not moving prompted him to do so. Sorry, but you're an asshole........and not the only one, I experience similar types of situations almost daily..............I just find it easier to move on and ignore it as it happens all too often.

Then why not just tell the story as such:

"This guy got so angry at me, while trying to get out of his parking spot, he spat on his window FROM INSIDE HIS CAR!"

Unfortunately you told us the whole story and the focus now seems to be on how YOU were the idiot.

No offence simon, but it doesn't take a genius to know that this would have been the best action to take. Good on you for being the first to suggest it.
Anyone with on ounce of common sense should have figured this out.

Whoever is "in the right"is irrelevant if he rams your car or pulls out a gun and shoots you.
I hope next time the OP will get shot and the shooter will be acquitted, because this will be a favour to society.

So you parked in an area where you were not supposed to park.
The way you parked forced this guy to back out unless you moved.
He honked his horn to get your attention to move but you ignored him and went back to what you were doing.
And you think he is an idiot.
I think I might of missed something.

Why wouldn't you move? You're in control of the situation?
Pay it forward.

Or maybe it's a control issue for you?
