Maybe he wasnt of Algerian descent. He was born Michael Joseph Hall, which is obviously an English surname
I'm traveling. Where did you see this. I've only seen that he was an Islamic Convert with a past criminal history in both B.C. and Quebec other sources saying that he was of Algerian descent.

My heartfelt sympathy to Corporal Cirillo's family, to the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders of Canada, and to everyone in Hamilton. What a horrible day.

http://news.nationalpost.com/2014/1...ec-was-repeatedly-brought-in-on-drug-charges/

Alleged Ottawa shooter apparently had criminal past in Quebec, was repeatedly brought in on drug charges

Although Canadian police have not released the name of the Ottawa shooter, on Wednesday afternoon U.S. sources leaked that the suspect’s name is Michael Zehaf Bibeau, a 32-year-old Canadian who was a recent convert to Islam.

Mr. Bibeau’s name was first broadcast by CBS, allegedly via U.S. intelligence sources who had been in contact with their Canadian counterparts.

Later, Reuters also cited U.S. sources in confirming that Mr. Bibeau was a recent convert to Islam and may have been born with the name Michael Joseph Hall
I really hope this doesnt become a trend, caucasian guys converting to Islam and going on killing sprees

The Post says the Globe has reported that Bibeau also had his passport taken by the RCMP lately.

Same with the idiot who ran down the two soldiers.

Seems like taking freedoms away from Canadian citizens (even if they are rabid wingnuts) is leading to attacks against the Canadian government.
What a stupid policy by Harper.
Give them their passports and let them leave and go get killed somewhere else.

You know what the damn media is not saying.

This terrorist attack, was successful.

We should also consider how the attacker was able to carry out attacks on two different places. One causing a fatality, then two running into a building where he got shot. If the terrorist had any training, he would have done more damage, much more.

Canada has to get it priorities straight.

Law and order is right up there. Terrorist kill people. The government has to do more. They could not even guard the fucking front door to Parliament.

And they want to pass a law like C-69. Pass the damn law, but like hell they will put a lot of effort enforcing that in the face of home grown terrorism.

Just wait until the I.S. returners come back to this country. Then watch out.

Imagine if this was the US where assault riffles and rocket launchers were sold on every street corner.
Are you retarded? Why do retarded people yell the loudest when they're spewing nonsense?

Assault rifles aren't being sold everywhere in the states, its very hard to actually be able to get one. And at the price tag very few people actually get em.
What you call "assault rifles" (semi-auto rifles) we have here and they are perfectly legal.

In 2014 when you are that ignorant you really don't have an excuse. Read a little more, talk a little less.

Typical blaming the government and excusing the terrorist.

I can find no other words to express the loss of Cpl. Cirillo, other than, may he rest in peace.

Today, "the unknown soldier" has been identified.

With respect,

It's not Canada's old school Muslims that you have to keep an eye on. They are law abiding, hard working and, from personal experience, generous to a fault. It's recent converts with a chip on their shoulders and an axe to grind. Most of them take what Canada offers for granted, they feel they should make a name for themselves through violence.

I'll be going to Gore Park on Remembrance Day to pay my respects to my Sicilian paisano Corporal Cirillo.

Just saw in CNN another fence jumper last night at the White House as well.

I loved the quote "he didn't get far.....this time they released the dogs"

(First person with a Simpsons meme wins!)

I wonder if this case was as much about undiagnosed mental illness as anything else. Don't get me wrong. This is NOT an attempt to mitigate his actions. But it seems from the reports I've seen he was another one who developed mental illness probably in his teens and latched on to the extremist ideology.

Completely agree!

Ridgeman08. We'll said! Would be a great idea to either add a memorial or if his family would agree to lay him to rest in the place where he lost his life doing a most honorable thing, standing guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
Canada lost its innocence yesterday!
Peace and Respect to us all!!!!

Still not sure what the point you were trying to make with your sarcasm,...was it because he didn't have an Anglo-Saxon name,...and therefor he MUST be an immigrant,...or ALL imigrants are terroists,...I'm willing to admit I need help understanding what you are trying to say,...

I was thinking the same last night, he had to have a psychiatrist assess him in jail.
Anytime that happens there's something wrong with your head
