I was refuting shogun's claim that all immigrants are lazy terrorist wannabes. Canada was built by immigrants it's what makes our country so dynamic. Maple Leaf Gardens was built by immigrants, Italian stonemasons. The overwhelming majority of immigrants are not on the dole, they work very hard to create wealth for our economy. Sadly for the soldiers but positive for Canadian society that they weren't just shipped off to gitmo. No, Canadian law doesn't allow people to be arrested on suspicion they may commit a crime.
And yes, it may seem better to let the guys go and slaughter people they disagree with in Iraq or Syria but that is against the Canadian way as well.
