Hospitals, doctors and nurses in Thailand are very good and probably one of the best in the world. I've seen so many westerners and middle easterners go to Thailand to get treatments there by Thai doctors and hospitals. If you may get sick there, then you should be fine and treated well by the doctors and hospital there paying very little fees to the hospitals comparing to a hospital in the western / developed world.
I'm not a white person though... so I am very comfortable when I go there. However, I do notice that many Thai girls like the westerners so you may be treated specially like a king over there if you are a white man. Many of the Thai girls don't seem to enjoy the company of the South Asian people such as Indians which I don't blame them considering that Indians always bargain for everything. I frequently go to the massage parlors there and many of them are big places and big buildings with lots of lights in front by the streets which you can notice them very easily. I feel safer by going to the massage parlors because they are big places and run professionally by the local companies and not run by pimps in a small go-go bar which many people mistaken as freelance....

Foods there are good. I've tried many food there. My favorite food places are the food courts in the shopping malls because you have lots of varieties to choose from in one place. Price-wise, foods in the food courts tend to be less than in a full-service restaurant. Most of the time, I spent within $3.5 for a meal in a food court including a soft drink or Thai ice coffee / tea if you can eat local Asian / Thai foods in a food court. Weather is usually hot there even in their "winter" time when it's still very hot for me. So eating meals in the food courts in the A/C environment inside a shopping mall makes me feel good while eating without sweating in the heat as you're eating outside with the street vendors.

Been there a number of times, but not recently. Stay in quality hotels. Budget places are risky in ways you might not think. You do need shots. HIV was once widespread, a tragic history, but a massive government education campaign around condom use has helped. Bar girls are plentiful in Patpong and Soi Cowboy, but massage parlours are better. Try not to go out alone.

My first experience in the world of pay for play was in Thailand this year. I had been going through a dry spell and decided that if I hit the 6 month mark I would say "screw it" (pun intended), go to Thailand, and smash every prostitute I could find. - Skip Bangkok, take a $40 cab ride straight to Pattaya. Bangkok is polluted, the women are expensive and there's not that much variety.
- Get a hotel or guest room in Pattaya near Soi 6. I didn't discover this street until a week into my vacation, but it's a magical street where 100 - 300 beautiful women arrive outside at 1PM waiting for discernible gentleman to pass by. In my three weeks there I was not able to once make it from one end of the street to the other without smashing at least one woman. The great thing about Soi 6 is that all the bars have rooms upstairs and the cost per session is $40. Sessions are OSOG and I had some sessions that lasted a full hour. Never felt rushed. This is a great afternoon activity to warm up.
- Avoid staying on walking street. This is where I stayed my first week. It's a huge party area but way too many tourists, the women are expensive and not better quality than elsewhere. I recommend visiting it a few times during a trip, but stay near Soi 6.
- Don't worry about Lady Boys. You'll be able to recognize them because they're over 5'6 and they look like models. If you're still unsure then you'll be able to tell when they talk with odd sounding voices. If you're still unsure, they're super aggressive whereas the women aren't as aggressive.

I had a wall up going in and I still got taken. I met a beautiful woman on day 3 and we spent the entire three weeks together (although I still went down Soi 6 every day after the gym). We spent 2 months afterwards chatting in Canada and I was planning another trip to see her. Then one day she asked for a "loan". Immediate block on Whatsapp and never talked to her since. She was smooth though so be VERY careful, trust no one and go in knowing that any woman you meet is most likely a con artist.
- Going along with the above point, I still recommend getting a "girlfriend" while you're there. Most nights they're free (since they're trying to con you) and when you do pay them it's maybe $120 for "long time". The benefit is you now get to experience having a girlfriend and you get that romantic connection. They also save you money in terms of negotiating with taxis and vendors and by knowing the best places for food and sightseeing. My "girlfriend" and I spent many days and nights island hopping and it was a fantastic bonus that I hadn't anticipated beforehand. If you go this route make sure you still hit up massage parlors or Soi 6 during the day while you're "at the gym".
- Soapy massage: Get these as much as possible. They're $120 and 2 hours. First 45 minutes are hot tub where the girl scrubs you squeaky clean. Then you get 30 minutes of soap on you and her rubbing herself all over your body. The rest of the time is free time and you can use your imagination for the rest.
- Massage: $8 for a traditional Thai massage or deep tissue. Great for after a workout and I got one legit massage a day. $40 - $80 for a special massage and great for those days where Soi 6 isn't on your route.
- Take your time: If you go out at 8PM, have fun, play pool or games with some of the bar girls, watch some Muay Thai matches, flirt, and enjoy every minute of it. Use this time to meet as many women as possible, don't be afraid to walk away if she's not doing it for you (but be respectful). Aim to have found a woman for midnight and then lock her down. At this point you can go back to your hotel, or continue on with your night; woman in tow.
Afterwards I came back to Canada and told myself this was a one time thing I would take to my grave, ready to find a quality girl to settle down with. Two weeks later I called CUPIDS and joined Terb... lol

Pattaya is certainly more country, and it is easy to reach the Elephant Village and the offshore island of Ko Larn when staying in Pattaya.
I might add that Pattaya is so perfectly set up for a long leisurely 2-Cum evening. Do one lady in one of the rooms above the bar, stroll around and eat (the food is great - I loved the seafood and the Turkish kabob places), stroll around the bay, stop at a pharmacy and buy a Viagra from a gourgeous female pharmacist, and just marvel at the never ending parade of beautiful women, then choose the second lady of the evening.

The cost is lower than you could ever touch in Canada and the suit will be made perfectly, then take a few Thai cooking classes. Thai food is so much more wide and varied than what we are used to in Canada. It’s incredible. In fact the street food scene is the best in the world. Christ, just try the pomegranate juice off the motorcycle vendors, it’s unbelievable.
