Missouri will be #1 in the nation in all the college football polls after beating Kansas tonight at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri!

...i was REALLY pulling for Kansas.

And no, they (Mizzou) won't be....not because they aren't deserving, but for the same reasons Kansas wasn't...pollsters will not recognize excellence in the Big 12...they still think if it ain't OK or Nebraska then it must be a basketball score. How would Mizzou with one loss accomplish what Kansas with no losses could not?

West Virginia will be number one...again, not that Mizzou does not deserve it....but....WV was number 3 to Mizzou's 4.....

If LSU beats Tennessee in the SEC championship they will be back at #1 on December 3. Too much hype in the SEC. SEC way too overrated by pollsters. Even with two losses LSU will most likely play WVU in the national championship. Missouri has played too many minnows this year and the pollsters as well as the BCS computer will punish them for that.

I don't think so. In fact after the win against Kansas and if they beat Oklahoma, the computers will love Missouri and they will be #1 in the computers, and at worst #2 in the human polls. In fact, Missouri will be ahead of LSU in the computer aspect of the formula this evening when the rankings come out. And next week a win over Oklahoma would be more valuable to the computer then a win over Tennessee.

Right now Missouri and West Virginia are both in control of there destinies. They win next week and they are in.

What could be interesting is Ohio St and LSU, if one of those two above teams lose. And that will piss of the Little Eleven fans, to know that there mighty conference is bitch slapped by one loss teams in the Big East and the Big 12, and a 2 loss team in the SEC.

But I see no chance in hell of Missouri not getting in with a win over Oklahoma. Well of course human voters can always Sabotage the vote and intentionally put LSU at least 2 spots ahead in the human vote, but that is highly unlikely/

The polls are now out - split vote. Coaches have West Virginia. The AP have Missouri. LSU is number five. (I do realize that Harris

I just don't see how LSU can make up that much ground in the human polls especially when Oklahoma is perceived at least as equals to Tennessee.

...THAT wasn't what you said at first.

"Missouri will be #1 in the nation in all the college football polls after beating Kansas tonight"

Had you said "MIZZOU WILL BE #1 in the BCS standings today" I would have differed, since I STILL don't understand the BCS formula in entirety.

Some of us do actually know a bit about what we speak...as in I knew the coaches would never give Mizzou the top spot over WV.

That said, if they beat OK, they might win over enough people to make it to number one in both polls...depending on who WV is playing (and of course, if WV wins).

"Maurice is the only one around here who knows the score. MIZZOU WILL BE #1 in the BCS standings today. It is not even up for debate. The rest of you are uninformed and full of hot air."

Yes, I did say it BEFORE the polls came out!

I didn't say...

...that you didn't make this claim before the polls came out.

My point is that in your first post...which I quoted...you claim Mizzou would be number 1 in ALL the polls.

I will quoted it again since you seemed to have forgotten your own post....

"Missouri will be #1 in the nation in all the college football polls after beating Kansas tonight "

They are not #1 in all the polls....they are not number 1 in the poll I knew they would not be number one in...the coaches poll.

Somewhere on a golf course
Missouri and West Virginia in the BCS Final...

FOX TV will not like that one....two small market teams which will draw flies.....Now if only my Gators had not run into trouble during mid season and lost three games....I just came back from Florida and the papers are full of College Football although I did find a very small reference to the Grey Cup in one paper...

MLAM, The fact is your both wrong so why are you arguing so vigourously . MLam said they would not be #1 in any of the polls, and BigMFoer said they would be #1 in all of the polls.

MLAM you can't argue that the coaches poll is somehow more important then the Harris Poll... they both are the same... (And I'm not entirely sure your saying that just inferring it and I could be wrong).

At the end of the day does it really matter, both teams are in control of there destinies and are destined to be 1-2 with wins this weekend. And I am fairly certain if Mizzou beats Oklahoma. then the coaches poll will certainly become closer, and may tip to Missouri.

I did, and I was wrong. I don't recall saying I wasn't.

I'm not saying that. All I am saying is that I expected Mizzou would not get the benefit of the doubt by the coaches, just as Kansas didn't.

Geez guys, I said they were deserving if they did get it...just that I didn't think they would. ("And no, they (Mizzou) won't be....not because they aren't deserving, but for the same reasons Kansas wasn't...pollsters will not recognize excellence in the Big 12")

You will note that I said "pollsters". The BCS is actually NOT a poll in the true sense of the word...no one gets "polled"...it is a computer ranking...I wasn't giving any thought to it at the time at all when I made the above comment.

On this we agree...and I said that as well....

With OSU sitting at #3 any loss this weekend by Missouri or West Virginia and we're back in the BCS.

I don't really care. my happiest development as a college fan all year is the fact that a Big 12 team and a Big East one loss team is deemed better then a mighty one loss Big Ten Team, and nationally everyone thinks it quite fair.

How the mighty Little Elevan has fell.... well it has fell for a couple years now, but its fans would not admit it. Maybe they will finally admit there mediocrity this year.

Give me a break! ...you are knocking me because I predicted "all" and it turned out that every poll in the universe has MIZZOU number one except for the BCS irrelevant coaches poll? You are grasping at straws, ole chap!
