Because of lobbying by some of your 'think tanks', I would expect
Ah, you expect. But you dont have any evidence for this, do you?!

I suspect not, so you're making an assumption obviously.
And we all know what happens when you assume, you make an ass out of u and me

Did you manage to spot the difference yet in your oil funded graph vs the original yet?
Until you can do that, calling anyone else dumb is just laugh in your face pathetic.
Its a high school level manipulation that really makes you look easy to fool.

And while we are on the subject of scientists and associations, I'll up your three deniers on a workshop of a sub-committee and give you a slam dunk statement from an association representing
400,000 scientists.
Their statement:

That's 400 fucking thousand scientists agreeing on that statement vs your 3 shady characters who were given their half hour to try to convince 50,000 physicists
And once again groggy is full of shit. The Union of Concerned Scientists is not comprised of 400,000 scientists. Its comprised of 400,000 members, but nowhere does it say its 400,000 scientists. That number includes parents, businesspeople, biologists, physicists, teachers and students.

They probably just got a bunch of people to sign up their parents, friends and family for free, and they now call that a 400,000 strong member organization.

Hilarious. I'm pretty sure groggy just skimmed over that part of their site as well :biggrin1:

See here: http://www.ucsusa.org/about/

The Union of Concerned Scientists

What began as a collaboration between students and faculty members at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1969 is now an alliance of more than 400,000 citizens and scientists. UCS members are people from all walks of life: parents and businesspeople, biologists and physicists, teachers and students

The oil industry and its conservative backers spend $1 billion a year trying to hack emails, stall science through FOI requests, buying journalists and hack scientists so I think its a fair assumption that they would be behind this. But if you have any real evidence otherwise, please share it.

No, I saw it and was trying to amend my post to say scientists and citizens but the internet died here for a bit. So what's your guess? 300,000 scientists, 100,00 scientists and the rest civilians?
That make your case any stronger?

Here's the one of the facts you won't admit.

There is not one single fucking legitimate scientific organization that doesn't support the finding that humans are causing climate change through greenhouse gases.
Not one.

And here's a list of 200 international scientific associations backing up the findings of the IPCC and anthropomorphic climate change.
200.

http://opr.ca.gov/s_listoforganizations.php

And the best you can come up with?
3 clowns got to speak for half an hour each at a workshop for a sub-committee at APS.
Congrats.

You really have no clue how you've been suckered in, do you?

Feels more like Global Cooling than global warming this year
It is obvious that Planet yet again shifted from the period of warming, back to cooling. Give it few years and the climate change fanatics will scream that the upcoming ice age is the prelude to the actual "catastrophy".

You haven't been following the thread.

Check the satellite photos above that show that while it's 20 degrees cooler then normal here it's 20 degrees warmer over the arctic.

Then note that 2013 was the fourth warmest year on record and the last decade the warmest and it's very clear the planet is warming and experiencing more extreme weather.

Just realized that link to the global temperature images were on the previous page.
This is it:

Here, check out a map of the Arctic today.
http://cci-reanalyzer.org/Forecasts/index_gfcst.php
choose northern hemisphere
click on temperature anomalies
click on 180 and then click on play.

If you do it you'll note that the arctic ocean is now 20ºC warmer then average yearly temperature while we are 20ºC cooler.

You base this on a single winter of cooler temperatures than many years previous? There were more high temperatures records set in the last 12 months than there were cold temperatures records. Sorry it's not that obvious.

The poll has spoken....carbon credit scam..... You have no point...in fact, you remain pointless.. you would be best off to join a global warming circle jerk forum. Odds are you already have.

Today's stat:
13 of the 14 warmest years on record have occurred since 2000.

In short big deal. A poll result on TERB doesn't mean it's true. Back to the swamp bug.

of course it doesnt mean its true dumb-ass. it merely means that those who feel that way are content to believe it, and aren't going to be otherwise swayed by your cut and paste prognostications, which essentially are only designed to bump up your post count, as otherwise they provide no intelligible nor useful value to readers.

If you think I'm concerned with bumping up my post count you have to be the dumbest members on this BB and that's saying a lot. The fact you can't understand what's posted is no surprise, doesn't mean others don't and really show's how dumb you are, again. Your contributions to this thread are classic troll graffiti, pretty much what you do to most Lounge threads.

Back to the swamp bug.

Right, so you've made up your mind and let the facts be damned.
Gotcha.

So news that 13 of the last 14 warmest years on record have happened since 2000 won't get in the way of your decision.

What happens if the next 10 plus years are as cold as this one? I think what's happening is just a natural progression in the universe. Like earth rolling on its axle, eventually we are going to speed up and start rolling back the other way. That's why time seems to just fly by now lol

If you follow the link and instructions in post #1133 up above you can see that while we've been stuck in a polar vortex in North America, the polar regions are experiencing incredibly warm temperatures. So while its cold here, its really not cold all around the planet, which is why even with the crazy cold winter we had 2013 was still the 4th warmest year on record.

So your question starts with a false premise.
Its not a cold year globally, just locally.

Do you have evidence oil industry spends $1 billion a year to hack emails??! Please share it.

And some paranoid treehugger's blog doesnt count as evidence

Bullshit you saw it :p
You didnt see shit groggy, as usual. You probably just skimmed over that site like you always do.

There is no fucking way that site counts 400,000 scientists as members.
Especially when they only list a handful on their site:

Here: http://www.ucsusa.org/about/staff/staff/national-advisory-board-nab.html

Here: http://www.ucsusa.org/about/staff/staff/expert-type/policy-analysts.html

And here: http://www.ucsusa.org/about/staff/staff/board.html

They probably have a few hundred scientists, and the rest are family, friends, relatives, and a few dead dogs.

And of course anyone can join their exclusive "club".
For a grand total of $35 you too can join a bunch of nerds who havent got laid since 1985:

https://secure3.convio.net/ucs/site...direct)|utmcmd=(none)&__utmv=-&__utmk=3042544

That $35 is tax-deductible btw, as they are listed as a charity company

I'd like to note that since you are now stating that blogs don't count, that I will hold you to that standard for your own claim.
Fair?

Here's the story about the $billion annual spending:
http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2013/dec/20/conservative-groups-1bn-against-climate-change

And lets note that it was fossil fuel funded McIntyre who first 'found' the first batch of hacked emails, but that numerous groups have been under attack.
http://www.theguardian.com/environment/series/climate-wars-hacked-emails
And a similar successful attack was made on skepticalscience.com, though since they didn't find anything nothing much was made of it.
http://www.skepticalscience.com/hack-2012-1.html

At this point the hacking has been quite well done, and like the robocall scandal here, they have gotten away with it. But its pretty obvious which party stands to profit by making shit up about the other side here.

There is no fucking way that site counts 400,000 scientists as members.
Especially when they only list a handful on their site:
Fine, lets call it 400,000 scientists and concerned citizens. Back that up with the other 200 fucking international scientific associations against your three paid lobbyists who were invited to talk for 30 minutes at a workshop for a sub-committee (or as you lied and called it a 'permanent panel').

When do you apologize for calling that workshop a 'permanent panel'?
You lied.

You can't spot a basic high school level graph manipulation you found on you lobbyists blogs (which are now and forever illegal to quote in this debate, thanks for that).
And now, faced with yet another massive organization calling out your bloggers, lobbyists and hackers, all you do is try to whine about how many are scientists.

How about we start branching out and including other industries that support the findings of the IPCC?
How about those who are paying for the damages that extreme weather is already giving us, the insurance industry?

Here's their statement on how they are dealing with climate change in the present:
http://evanmills.lbl.gov/pubs/pdf/climate-action-insurance.pdf
While your bloggers and lobbyists are busy pulling the wool over your eyes, they are busy dealing with the shitstorm of climate change related extreme weather damage.

If you think about it, we had a true Canadian winter for once, which means that we've been spoiled by GW.

(Some who can remember say we haven't had a winter like this in 20 years).

I'm not fixated on the climate buddy,if that's what your saying. The last 15 years have been pretty good to me and I anticipate the next 15 will be as well. The planet will take care of itself. Not too worried about it. I am more concerned about the condition of mankind. Click on any news wire service these days and take note of: who is launching test missiles ; how many humans are living in tent cities displaced from their countries of origin; geo-political turf wars; children and families barely surviving in abject poverty; terrorists blowing up themselves and others; suicide rates amongst youth; rates of addictions; the economic decline of world powers and E.U. Member countries: your own governments spying on your every move and working towards keeping the populace living in fear....................and you are worried about the fucking climate??????? Time to get a grip and reconfigure your priorities because your average jack and Jill human with 2.3 kids are going to be pretty fucked in the next couple of decades for a whole lot of other reasons. In fact I suggest you hang up your global warming rant hat, have a beer, maybe take a vacation, and enjoy yourself while you can
