Blame the trudeau lead parks Canada agency- and especially blame all idiots that support trudeau.
I agree with resetset, Trudeau should me forced to do The Walk of Shame!

Toronto's geography is shielding the city from the worst of the smog. The westerlies are pushing the smoke into the north eastern USA. NYC looks like Pittsburgh during the steel boom of the late 19th Century.

I heard a report that it was 50% human and 50% lightning.

How did Quebec forest fires start?

While the majority of the early-season fires were caused by lightning strikes, Pelletier noted that in a regular season, human activity is to blame for roughly 80 per cent of fires.

In Quebec it was lightning.

Yes human activity are the origin of many fires but that is mostly true in more populated area like california. Fire in northern part of canada are mostly started by lightning.

Stupid humans allowed the oil&gas industry to screw over the climate and other stupid humans live near now, very dry forests.

But lets blame the lying fossil fuel industry, they deserve the blame for the climate change that's making this happen so much more.

Says the person who relies on and uses the benefits of oil & gas every single day.

I'm sure global warming is to blame for an increase in the frequency of weather events. But Canada's contribution to global GHG emissions amounts to a nothing more than a rounding error. Canada could reduce its greenhouse gas emissions to net zero tomorrow and it would have no effect on the weather in Canada.

Our federal government says Canada gets 6% of its electricity from coal, a 55% decrease since 2011. By contrast, China gets almost 60% of its electricity from coal. India gets 70% of its electricity from coal. Since it's a "global" thing, until the worst polluters, that being China and India start reducing their emissions, nothing's going to change.

Does Trudeau believe China and India will follow Canada's lead in reducing GHG emissions? If that's the case, he's dumber than anyone ever imagined.

Yesterday, here in Kingston the sun was totally blocked out. This afternoon, still smokey but not as bad.
Smoke is covering the entire Eastern US from Minneapolis down to Oklahoma over to Myrtle beach, all fed by fires in Newfoundland, Quebec and Ontario.
Tomorrow, Toronto will be blacked out by smoke from 6 AM to 5 PM.
Forecast here.

Sooo what’s the end game on the fires up north? I guess no one really knows but if this goes on too long I have to get out of here for the summer. There’s no point in being outside right now in these conditions. It’s hard to breathe and horrible to look at.

Air quality in Kingston last night and early this morning was off the Air Quality Health Index Chart.
Natural Resources and Forestry Minister Graydon Smith said "He was confident in Ontario’s response — and would call in other firefighters if necessary.
“We’ve got a great number of crews, waterbombers, helicopters here in Ontario and an emergency centre that coordinates everything,”
Meanwhile, the Canadian Interagency Forest Fire fighting Center (CIFFC), an agency which coordinates Canada’s interprovincial fire responses has rated Ontario’s preparedness on Monday as very high danger, with a very high fire load. It described the province’s resources levels as “assistance required” and its ability to respond to resource requests for staff from the central agency as “poor.”

anywhere i want;)
The forest fires are really bad.

I cant believe how strong the smell is here in the city.

Even i considered wearing a mask. The government needs to get these fires under control.

I heard there was help coming from France and the US to help fight the fires.

most wildfires are man made

How do wildfires start?
There’s no single answer.

Most wildfires are actually man-made – 84%, according to a NASA study. It doesn’t take much: a campfire, a tossed cigarette or even a firework can spark a massive blaze. Those Amazon fires a few months ago? Many believe they were lit by cattle ranchers and loggers who wanted to clear the land for use.

Remember that old Smokey Bear saying, “Only you can prevent wildfires”? He has a point.

I like the smell, but not as good as fresh gasoline or fresh exhaust.

It was likely an eco terrorist cell that ignited the fires to help push the climate narrative. Fully supported by big government globalists.

24 Australians arrested for deliberately setting fires this season
The country has been ravaged by wildfires this summer.
ByMark Osborne
January 6, 2020, 10:42 PM

Two dozen Australians in the state of New South Wales have been arrested since early November for intentionally setting fires as record-large blazes continue to burn across the country.

There have been 24 people charged with deliberately setting fires among 183 facing legal action in the state, according to the New South Wales Police Force.

In addition to those facing the most serious charges of starting fires intentionally, authorities said another 53 people are facing legal action for not complying with the state's fire ban and 47 people have faced legal action for discarding a lit cigarette or match on land.
