I can confirm the above. The same as it was before the bike lanes went in, except that you can now bike safely across the city so more people do that and there are fewer people driving.
The street moves more people and in a safer way, businesses are happy about it here.
Please show the man the respect that he deserves.I'm sure they are Mr. Misinformation.. Who are your sources. The Beaverton and The Onion.
Right after he opens the Eglington LRT and builds the tunnel under the 401.I hope they're not touching the Danforth bike lane. I like it for my bike, but I don't drive there much. I take alternate routes with my car. Traffic is slow, but the vibe with the patios and bike lanes is cool. Question for DOFO is: when are you rebuilding that ramp at the eastern end of the Gardner????????????????????
Good question tying into the broader question of:I hope they're not touching the Danforth bike lane. I like it for my bike, but I don't drive there much. I take alternate routes with my car. Traffic is slow, but the vibe with the patios and bike lanes is cool. Question for DOFO is: when are you rebuilding that ramp at the eastern end of the Gardner????????????????????
I rather take the word of The Beaverton and the Onion than CBCThe Ontario Government commissioned the study.
The CBC reported that Ford's own study says getting rid of bike lanes will result in 54% more collisions and not change traffic speeds.I rather take the word of The Beaverton and the Onion than CBC. They're being removed for a reason.
Hard to have a collision when nobody is moving in one lane of traffic. The CBC reported that Ford's own study says getting rid of bike lanes will result in 54% more collisions and not change traffic speeds.
You are just upset that they dared use Ford's own government study in an article.
Read the report.Hard to have a collision when nobody is moving in one lane of traffic.
I did. I don't trust anything reported by the CBC. And doesn't matter what the report says. Residents businesses and motorists are all in agreement that they are the problem and not the solution. No one wanted them.Read the report.
Only if the loser PP gets elected. They are a great institution.I rather take the word of The Beaverton and the Onion than CBC. They're being removed for a reason.
As a pedestrian, bikes scare me. I was hit two years ago while standing on the sidewalk with headphones in on a very quiet residential street. No reason for the bicyclist to be on the sidewalk going full speed. They blamed me for not hearing their bell ringing, got up and took off. There are more threats than just those that kill you. I visited Amsterdam for 10 days earlier this year. Amsterdam has extensive bicyclying lanes. In that short time I personally witnessed 3 pedestrians injured by bikes in 3 separate incidents, one requiring an ambulance. I saw no pedestrians injured by a car. In Toronto, where I have a much larger sample size of observation, the same has been true. Most cyclists don't follow the rules of the road (or sidewalk) and are not considerate of pedestrians. Anyone with the opportunity to observe cyclists in this city knows this is true.
Bullshit, Bloor St businesses back the bike lanes and say they are good for business.I did. I don't trust anything reported by the CBC. And doesn't matter what the report says. Residents businesses and motorists are all in agreement that they are the problem and not the solution. No one wanted them.
That's the gist of it.Bullshit, Bloor St businesses back the bike lanes and say they are good for business.
The only ones who don't want them don't live here.
Summed up nicely here:We were open-minded enough to give them a try. They didn't work. It's like kicking a dead horse. Time to move on.
