The idea of a Super League isn't dead yet.
The Gulf oligarchs have broken the transfer market, 80% of football clubs are in the red. Not getting into the CL, Roma face a hard summer, they are shackled by FFP rules. Gerry Cardinale fired Paolo Maldini, attempting to compete with fiefdom clubs for players would put him in the deep red. Eventually the EPL will go the way of the PGA, if that happens Real Madrid and Bayern Munich will also become fringe clubs. What stopped the Super League in the first place was PSG, who didn't go along.
It's an improvement, owning the EPL is better than financing flying planes into buildings.
