Group B seems like the toughest followed by F. Greece seems to have a free ride as the defending champs.

Sven is retiring this summer after the World Cup.

Retiring?? The English FA basically bought him out after all the bulls**t
with the press he has had. This latest incident was the last straw.
He had a contract until 2008 I believe.

Yeah I do blame him. Why can,t he keep his mouth shut? It,s not difficult,
but for him it,s a problem. Espically when he starts "spouting off" about
his own players and thier personal lives. He dug his own grave IMO..

Isn't there a good enough Englishman who could take over Eriksson ? Now there is talk about Guus Hiddink (current PSV and Australia coach) to succeed him. Germany has a German coach, Italy has an Italian coach, and so do Spain, France, and Brazil. Why can't England just get a local-boy to take charge, or do they think there is no one good enough ? Let's see how all this plays out just before the World Cup and if it affects England's performance.

Personally, I wasn't too impressed with the job Eriksson had done. For one, he never left Beck's out of the lineup no matter how bad his form was.

the Greeks having a free ride are you kidding!!! the Turks came within a bad 45 minutes of the World Cup, the Norwegians are never any push overs and the Bosnians manage to scare the crap out of the Spanish and Serbia/Montenegro in qualifying, they could manage to qualify but they could easily miss out too, which would be wonderful as the Greeks would realize they were a one hit wonder

I agree that the Greeks are a one hit wonder. What I probably should have said is that the Greeks could have had a much tougher road, they will be challenged but there are no obvious 2 teams that should come out of that group.

They say that the Euro Cup is harder to win then the WC because the WC is watered down with teams from shitty places like CONCACAF and Asia.
Its also the 3rd largest sporting event behind the WC and Olympics.

Just throwing some facts out there people...........I'll shut up now

OOppss....sorry Mr. beckham ;)

I think its a tad early to be naming favourites 2 years in advance.

BUT, England havent had this much world class talent in many years.
I hope if we dont win the WC, we at least win the Euro

the Euro is way harder to win than the WC exactly as you said based on anyone can beat anyone, not so the case in the WC, remember Saudi Arabia-Germany, which makes it my favorite tournament

as for Brazil well they have an awesome side based on a huge population that is obsessed with soccer, what bothers me is the band wagon effect that happens in TO where people with zero links to Brazil or my personal favorites are the guys with a Portuguese and a Brazilian flag on the car hmmm ya might wanna read some history homey the Brazilians werent really crazy about the Portuguese ruling them hmmm

Ladies Man brought up something I was never able to understand...why does England have a foreign coach? Didn't they invent the bloody sport! Think about it...it would be like team Canada having a Swedish or Japanese hockey coach.

Would someone please enlighten me.
