Elon Musk's companies have had a significant impact on several industries, including:
- Transportation
Tesla's success has accelerated the transition to electric vehicles, influencing government policies and consumer preferences.
- Space
SpaceX has revolutionized space launch economics, making satellite deployment more affordable and opening up new possibilities for space-based services. SpaceX has also sent astronauts to and from the International Space Station and is developing the Starship rocket, which could put American boots back on the moon.
- Neurotechnology
Neuralink is a neurotechnology company co-founded by Musk in 2016.
- Urban transportation
The Boring Company is a venture of Musk's that is pushing boundaries in urban transportation.
- Online payments
Musk co-founded PayPal, an electronic payment firm, after merging X.com with Confinity in 2001
Now I'm sure you will find some kind of nuance with wording here...Let's see if I'm right.
Tesla: Yes, under his leadership he made the company a rival for the big automakers around the world. Cannot argue with this. However, Musk has repeatedly made wild promises about Tesla technology that are not even close to being feasible. Like the self-driving car he said would be ready by 2018...
Space X: Agreed, he helped improve the launching of satellites. We'll see how the other stuff works out.
These others....seriously? The Boring Company is basically dead. He launched it to sink a proposed high-speed rail system that could cut into car sales. Other than one tunnel in Las Vegas, what other projects has this company done? All hype, no payoff.
Neuralink....Another example of how Musk talks a big game but we're still many, many years away from anything tangible.
PayPal was revolutionary at the time, but who still uses it?
Anyways, I'll agree that Trudeau is insufferable. But, compared to Musk, he's a fucking rock star. Elon continues to sound unhinged and his stupid little drug jokes and double entendres really show how childish he is.
As someone else posted in this thread, he's going to end up like Mike Lindell. He might not go bankrupt, but Trump will use him and abuse him and then drop him like a bad habit.
