Good to hear from folks who have one instead of the 'i have a friend " which is probably a Facebook "friend". LOL
My favourite is when people say you cannot take it on road trips Because it would take hours to charge. Ummm…I do it all the time. I usually park at a parking lot downtown financial district where I have a condo to get a free charge and I go to 100%…that will take me to Kingston with 20% left where I would supercharge and grab some Panera Bread for 20 mins. That will give me enough power to drive downtown Montreal (my destination) where I will park in the parking lot right across the street from Sheraton where I can charge for free all night. Total charge time of 20 mins while I eat is very acceptable.

EVs getting a bad rep for the shortfall in charging time and availability, other than that I would buy one except for the range anxiety and the battery replacement cost after 8yrs is too high.
All other issues are grossly exaggerated by the right winged convoy idiots. Face it the EV will beat any ICE in a race and apparently a tug of war too. I just wish we could get BYD cars here lol. For the moment I would prefer PHEV or hybrid.

Now matter how much you try to dress it up, EVs are problematic. Let's break down what you wrote, as a proud owner of an EV:

- you MUST make a stop at a place with a fast electric charger while traveling from Toronto to Montreal or else you won't make it to your destination. It's a mandatory stop for at least 20 minutes. I'm guessing this time is likely double or even longer, assuming a charger is readily available.

- you MUST stop at a place with an available charger overnight or else your car will have no juice the next day.

I can drive from GTA to Montreal and back in my ICE vehicle without having to fill up even once. I can crank up A/C in the summer or heat in the winter, have music blasting and wouldn't care about my vehicle running out of juice. EV owners don't have that luxury.

As long as Big Oil controls/dictates US energy policy quick "battery change stations" that exist and work great in China and some European countries will be blocked. Big Oil and their shills still do all possible to sabotage EVs development. Quick "battery change stations" over there now take 2½ minutes to change batteries. Less time than fueling up your gas tank.
Wow, that’s amazing. Do you get a full charge in 2 1/2 minutes?
There’s also the issue of batteries that are about five years old having to be replaced and costing a lot of money. I would be hesitant to buy a used EV that was about four or five years old as I’m not sure how much longer the battery would last.

Assuming of course the charging stations are available and you're not waiting for one and even then, no offense, but that sounds so boring. lol

For you, I suggest you get any friend, just get started.
As for me, my old clubbing buddies have been pretty solid for years.
I have a few of those myself and we still hit the bars and patios. I bet you did great with the ladies back then eh? Talking about conspiracy theories, WEF, freedom, Bill Gates is inventing a chip to one day put in a vaccine, yup, I bet as you read this it's bringing back those good old days. ;)

Yeah I did well actually.
As for the "conspiracy" stuff, living in your head rent free huh?
Those guys with their predictions have been for large part quite accurate.
Btw, this thread is about EVs, maybe try to stay on topic? 🤦‍♂️

I read that the re-sale value of Teslas is dropping fast as Tesla reduces the price of their new cars to spur sales.

In general the re-sale value of all used cars has dropped 3% or so over the past year. Teslas have dropped over 30%.

It is on the topic because you would use the same argument during the pandemic, "I have a friend blah blah blah" nonsense!!!!

I haven't yet bought an EV because I have range fear, but that doesn't mean I get all hot and bothered thinking that the gas-powered car will be replaced within the near future. I have been looking at Hybrids and maybe jumping into one soon as a way of dipping my toe into the future while keeping the rest of my foot in the past

Yes it's possible for people to have friends with personal experiences. lol You're keeping your foot in the past, I can tell, MSM is 100% factual, accurate and reliable to you.

Over Facebook, social media, rightie echo chambers, a friend who is a plumber recommending supplements and alternative medicine, yes I will go with MSM except for Fox News who by the way is also MSM.

Everything you just mentioned above are just mediums to deliver the message(s) like the the TV that you devoutly believe in. Plenty of people with solid credentials use those mediums to get their thoughts, ideas and messages out.
If you can't grasp that simple concept, not my problem my man. lol

Yes, Fox, is part of the MSM, like CBC, CBS, etc, congrats, baby steps, you're learning.

Interesting that Norway wealth is significantly tied to the sale of North Sea oil. Perhaps the reason the population has gone ”green “ has more to do with guilt or virtue signalling.
Alfred Nobel made a fortune selling arms and bequeathed a portion of his fortune to “Nobel peace prize”
Learn something new, shit, Nobel sold arms? lol
And I just learned it on a website, did you make this up? I mean websites, social media apps, etc. can't be trusted to some people. lol

Will be giving this a watch later, the comments alone tell the story of this guy's opinion, who happens to own a Tesla.

Kudos to you for being able to go 1100km without fill up. I am assuming you drive a hybrid. I can do a return trip on $44 while going 0-60 in 4.3, can you?
