The purpose of this thread: Tips and tricks for reducing shower time: showering efficiently, and drying off fast.

I suspect this is an important and relevant topic for many people here... especially for the ladies here. I shower sometimes 5 times a day: When I get up, after I go to the gym (often twice a day), plus showering is an important part of a visit to any SP, sometimes before AND after. So that is a lot of time in the shower.

I will kick it off with this drying off tip:

Stand an extra 20-30 seconds in the shower after you shut off the water, most of the water will drip off you, and you'll get more mileage out of your towel as a result. Start drying from the top down--dry your hair first, then your face, then upper body. Drying in the opposite order is counter-productive since water from your hair will drip down your body, and you'll wind up having to dry off some areas twice as a result. So towel down from top to bottom.

true but...

Great thread, Fuji but if I may slip into metro mode for a second here...

Drying off quickly will actually dehydrate your skin (i.e. not just the surface), especially after a hot shower, which is not good. this is especially true if you are showering 5 times a day. better to shake off the excess after you turn off the shower and let most of the moisture evaporate naturally. I will air dry (no toweling) immediately after I shower while I brush my teeth (5 mins). By that time, most of water has evaporated and I towel off the remainder and then slap on some lotion before I get dressed. My skin can get pretty dry, especially during the winter, but this method works for me. You're not losing any time except for the 30 extra seconds to put on lotion and you'll be saving your skin. the ladies love it and you'll stay looking youg, fresh and tasty.

Another tip is to always wash and rinse your hair first, as all the residue from gel, hairspray whatever will naturally flow down and cover the netherlands. If you don't wash away the residue it can clog pores and result in skin reactions, dry patches, etc....

Enjoy.

way out in left field
Well, I hear compressed air and a power washer cuts down time dramatically...just don't point the air line at any body orifice, else, well, you might turn into a human balloon....

Seriously which of these showers do you skip:

--shower after the gym/exercise (if you don't exercise, haha, pipsqueak little girlyman, let me kick some sand in your face)

--shower before visiting SP (if not, you get crappy service)

--shower after visiting SP (if you don't need it, you aren't doing it right)

I guess you could combine showering in the morning or evening with one of those other activies. I don't, because I work out at lunch, but you could.

In a very dark place
Fuji, relax and breathe slowly

In theory and practice there is nothing wrong with showering, I have tried it and it makes a big difference. My point was that after your initial posting the theme changes to modes of drying and the application of lotion. That just stuck me as funny as I'm sure it did to a few others. Don't be so damned sensitive and get your panties in a knot over such a trivial matter. Or maybe just go and take a COLD shower, it will help you cool down.
