1 warm skin with warm water

2 use the right shaving cream if face gets red

3 shave with the grain shaving against the grain is a primary cause because it pulls the hair taut and cuts it below the skin surface. When the skin relaxes, the hair retracts, and as it grows back, it can get trapped.

4 use balm immediately after shave cream. I use moisturizer instead after skin has dried with a SP factor

5 always use sharp blades

6 use oil on beard

7 use face scrub 2x per week use lightly for 30 seconds then apply moisturizer

Never thought of it so i looked it up

laser targets the pigment in hair follicles, so it is most effective on dark hair and lighter skin . It is not effective on blonde, red, grey, or white hair because those lack enough pigment to absorb the laser energy .

It takes many hours over months and well over a $1000 when two minutes a day is all was required to shave

I want to keep the ability to grow beard as I like to change looks when the secret police are after me

Are you happy you did it?

One of the most helpful things I found is a little anti fog mirror that I put in the shower and I just shave in there, saves on time and my face is already nice and moistened and pores open because of the hot water. Tried it on a whim and ended up loving it

Correct, unfortunately, it also has diminishing returns over the course of treatment because the hairs become more sparse and spread out so eventually you have to switch to Electrolysis which is painful as FUUUUUUCK.

Yeah it took me about 8 sessions to get to the point mentioned above and the cost went down as I went through it because they need to do less and less area.

Though I did more sessions after for shoulder, neck and chest.

Completely fair. I get some people like to have facial hair at times. That's why I mentioned it more as a personal thing.

Are you happy you did it?
Absolutely, I wish I was able to tolerate the Electrolysis I need to get rid of the few white and very very sparse black hairs that are left because right now I still need a 30 second pass with the the electric razor anymore. If/When I find a job again I want to go back to do one more full face session and a couple more chest sessions.

I kinda want to post the progress pics but not sure if that's gonna make some members angry.

Just reminded me I have to clean my electric shaver. Then lubricate.

I have Asian genes that make it impossible for me to grow a beard. Instead, I only get chin hair stubble that I pluck out

Yep, exactly. I cannot recommend it enough just because of how time you save doing it.
Also shave in the shower. I agree that the shave is way better, because of the heat and steam softening the hair. No mirror needed tho, easy to do by feel. I get a better, cleaner shave feeling for whiskers rather than looking in the mirror. Just a quick inspection in the mirror after, just to make sure there are no embarrassing errors.

Here
IMHO shaving in the shower is just a waste of water. I shave in the sink, l use plenty of hot water to soften my wiskers,I use a decent amount of shaving cream, and I shave against the grain and very close sometimes i get a little razor burn so i use a lotion after. I only shave twice a week.

I’ve been using (post shampoo) hair conditioner instead of shaving cream for decades

My Braun S9 Pro electric has a charging/cleaning/lubricating station that I place it into after every shave...

My favourite electric shaver for many years.

Though still not as close as a blade...

I'm with you, it may not seem like a lot but that extra 10 minutes shaving in the shower is a constant stream of water versus filling the sink with a bit of hot water and shaving that way is a drastic difference in terms of how much water is used
