Ironically I would bet you that Brown's biggest supporters are female. That's his audience (who else buys that shit music?). They'll stick with him on the road to recovery.

Women are fascinating. I love them.

If he had to kick her, he should have kicked her in the ass.
What he did was very dangerous and could have resulted in a very serious head injury, and maybe it did.
It seemed like she whacked her head on the concrete quite hard.

She is a mouthy bitch and he is a lowlife asshole.

Although I dont think thats how I would have handled things, there's 2 major issues I have with this chick:

1) She's in a foreign country acting like a total idiot (being drunk is no excuse)
2) She threw a drink in the guys face, that in some cultures could mean ultimate disrespect. And what if there was a sharp icecube that damaged the guy's eye, is that not assault??!!

I dont think flooring/hitting a girl is the right thing to do, but I dont feel sorry for her at all. I hope she learned a lesson

Many have alluded to the point you're making. I tried as well. We can say all we want about what a pussy or asshole the guy is. Fact is, in many parts of the world outside of the North American cocoon where most board members live, the rules are very different. People traveling abroad sometimes end up dead because they don't understand that what you can get away with here will get you fucked up elsewhere.

You go to one of those Muslims countries and act like its spring break and show off your tits in public, your ass is landed in jail. Try that in Dubai and they'll put you away.

In many places, they don't subscribe to the "never hit a woman" concept. If a guy is being a dick in a foreign country and you can walk away, do it. I do the same even here. I've been in many clubs where some drunk asshole starts acting up. I either leave the bar or go someplace else in the bar that's far from the asshole. I'm not a pussy. I'm simply not going to compromise my life and my ability to make a living (a broken hand would fuck my life up) for a stupid night out bar fight with a loser that doesn't have a dime to his name.

That being said, I haven't been to a club or bar in many moons. I work, read, and poon. That's my life and I love every minute of it.

I voted "no" because from the video it looks like HE started the physical conflict. Maybe she was a mouthy bitch, but in the video it looks like he slaps/pokes/pushes her before she throws the drink. He should have stuck to name calling.

Now if he had been minding his own business and she came up and mouthed off at him and then threw her drink.... I still think he should have walked away but it would have been more debatable.

La la land
ALmost the same thing

Something like this almost happen to me.
2 American girls with their 3 male friends. They were sitting by Bar pool, in which she was blocking a part of the bar/table which should not be blocked at all because that section was for waiter/waitress to get drinks and for customers. So everyone had acces to the bar.

It wasn't busy at 3pm but the Yankee dooo head had placed her drink there. As I approach that section to get myself a Tequila the American switch had the nerve to say to me, "that section is taken", while she was 6' away from her drink and bar.

I looked at her, knowing she is abit drunk at 3pm, raised my eyebrow and said
"don't worry I am getting a drink, it's an open section"... proceed to order my drink in spanish since I speak the language.

She backed off and waited for me to finish or bartender, then I walked away by saying "see got my drink"
She didn't respond nor her buddies, realizing she sat at an area where she shouldn't be.

People think by being in a foreign country they can do what they want and believe they are above the law.

Low Self-esteem clowns.

Oh yeah those muslim countries... model places for treatment of women. Nice analogy there.

Also it appears that they guy in the vid is also a tourist. SO you have two tourists messing with each other. The girl may be a drunk bitch but the guy definately egged her on with fake punches (what a man, faking a punch to a girl) and his actions.

Americans have a reputation for acting like idiots wherever they go abroad, including the most liberal European countries. They act like they own the place and can do as they please. They can get away with that shit in America, Canada, and in Europe, but not in many parts of the 3rd world. If you don't believe me, try it.

I used Muslim countries as an example because they're the extreme. I can't speak about many other nations because I don't know about their cultures. I do know that most of them are not mirror images of North American culture.

As a tourist you're going to mingle with tourists from other countries who think they can do whatever they want too. It's all asking for trouble.

You find at many (poor) countries, if you go to the all inclusive places,
that some guests think they own the place and can do to the staff etc what they want.
If on top of that they get drunk during the afternoon, -----

If you think Americans have the worst rep has bad travelers, you haven't seen a lot of different types of tourists or you are living off their reputation from long ago. They have long been surpassed by the two new big players in the game (Chinese and Russians), who are also coincidentally new money. I'd rate Americans in the middle of the pack now as "rude" travellers.

As for respect, yeah if you're going to a mosque, you should cover yourself and show respect. But if you are going to a strip club, you don't complain about indecent exposure. If you are party town in Mexico catering to a certain demographic, you know what's coming. Hence I avoid places like Cancun like the plague. Don't run a strip club and then complain that you get a lot of pervy, sexist men coming in.

You're missing the point though, in other countries they play by their rules. Not North-American rules
So when you're a tourist you have to take some of that into account and behave yourself accordingly.

So what rules would be at a party resort in Mexico?

She threw a drink at a guy (bad move)
He leg swept a girl (even worse)

I would guess physical assault is illegal in Mexico. Throwing a drink is probably not.

I would have to agree, that I have seen particularly in other parts of Asia, that Chinese people are not well liked there, because they behaved disrespectfully towards serving staff, flight attendants, etc. In Japan, and Thailand in particular, they don't tolerate rudeness very well, and I have seen a number of altercations where Chinese people really got themselves in trouble because they were clueless in courtesy and respect. I would imagine the same perception is shared with Korea and other Asian areas. Even within China there is social unrest between mainland Mandarins and Hong Kong Cantonese, and between Taiwan and Mainland China and Hong Kong, Hong Kong and Macau.

This is a little off topic, but it ties in with being aware of your surroundings, and not fucking with other people in other countries- particularly if you are in their country, or if you are just not in yours. And not to expect that your norms take priority over others when you are in a country that isn't yours, on vacation. She should have walked away. Instead, she threw a beer in the face of someone she didn't know, and it resulted in an ass kicking. Why are we even talking about this anymore?

I don't know about Mexico but in a number of places in North America both are Assault/Battery - the difference between them is the length of the sentence or amount of the fine, not that one is and the other isn't.

It's interesting that you bring up China and Russia. Those are two nations, that if I were to travel there, I would not fuck around. If you don't look Slavic, you're already a target in much of Russia, and if you get punked or even killed, authorities don't give a shit. They're dealing with economic turmoil, growing fascism and all kinds of problems there. China is another circus depending on where you go. But if you go, you have to play by their rules.

I tend to travel only to English speaking countries, or Western Europe.

Indeed the Russian Militia do not mess around. I've seen the Militia after breaking up a drunken fight in the Alexander Park in Saint-Petersburg literaly standing on the neck of the guy they were arresting. And that was one of the milder actions.

I remember at the 2004 olympics in Greece there was a smartass streaker that ran onto the field during a soccer match, he thought it was lots of fun, his mates would see him live on TV back in America and that be the end of it.

Turned out when he got arrested and hauled off to the police station he got a severe beating from the cops. To the point that he needed stitches and a cast on his arm. Then he had the nerve to whine and complain about it to the media when he arrived home.

Sorry, I cant feel sorry for him. He thought his "human rights" would be extended over there, turns out he was wrong :D
You are in their country as their guest, so learn the rules buddy
