Okay, this poll just proves how many assholes are on Terb. Guy was hitting on her, and mouthing off to her, I think she said something like "I'm not that kind of girl" he said something back, she threw her drink, he went after her.

Drunk or not, the guy was obviously following her as she tried to walk away and he said something to her. She then threw her drink at him. He's not an innocent bystander here.

There's no excuse for what he did, and those who think he was justified are just as bad as he is. Unbelievable.

As most are saying here is there are repercussions for one's actions but the size difference has to be a factor in what those repercussions are.

For example: do you hit a 10 yr old boy the same way you'd hit a 250 lbs full grown man? Of course not. Just like you don't kick the legs out from under a skinny little american bitch. Pick her up and toss her in the pool? of course. Put her over your knee? of course. Rip her bikini bottoms off? of course.

What if she doesn't know how to swim? Now you've got a dead chick all because she threw a drink at a guy. What if he picked her up and because she's drunk and flailing around, he trips and she lands on her head and breaks her neck? My point is that I don't think he intended to have her head slam against the ground. He wanted her ass to hit the floor. But there are so many unintended consequences especially to physical actions. The only gauranteed course of action that would not result in potential physical harm would be to walk away. That's the heart of this entire thread. Did he do the right thing by being physical or should he have walked away.

On the other hand, you're in another guy's country mocking his English, tossing drinks at him. His parents have probably lived their lives cleaning hotel room toilets for American tourists that treat them like shit. He's has turned gangster to make money instead of cleaning toilets and an American chick is acting like she's in America thinking the "never hit a woman" line applies the world over. It doesn't. He also knows that while in Mexico there is no recourse for his actions. If the girl and her friends run to the police, the police will not only laugh at them, but take money from them.

For the record, when I travel abroad, I never fuck around with the locals. I don't know their language, their laws, their customs. I assume that any bullshit that I pull could result in my own painful death.

For eg: I was in atlanta on business and was sitting on a patio when there was a commotion going on across the way. Me and my buddy saw a guy smacking a chick around and we were the ONLY ones who went over and stopped him until the cops arrived. We ate free that night and when we went back to the bar on Saturday one of the waitresses recognized us and we got free drinks......we were known as the crazy canadians.

He didn't just defend himself. He gave a straight up leg kick that could have broken her leg. She could have fallen on her head and gotten killed.
