DeSantis has certainly cultivated them somewhat, but is open support gonna be too much for the more big money crowd that wants to move to DeSantis?
They want to wash some of the Trump stink off, but keep as much of the base as they can. Is the flat-out white supremacist gonna count as "stink" or "base"?
I think the problem is that Fox and Tucker have done so much conditioning to the base to fear the great white replacement that the GOP now has to actively court that small section of the population.
Its a bit like PeePee thinking he needs the convoy crowd, both are small demographics they don't think they can afford to lose.
I think it's more betting that if they pick up the 5% far right asshole vote, that'll be enough extra votes to win them a number of marginal seats or swing states.
Of course, what happens is that they lose 5% or more of the independent centre spectrum vote and net out as a minus.
The problem is that Fuentes controls his own grift and can take it wherever he wants, regardless of how uncomfortable the Koch's and Mercers feel about that play.
I'm not worried about what Fuentes does.
The question for me is whether this is something DeSantis tries to get distance from.
