Big news,
Don Mattingly is in talks to join the Blue Jays and John Schneider's staff. Let's hope the talks are fruitful. Mattingly has managerial, coaching and playing experience at the highest MLB levels. He would be a super signing.

He was also a 1B man. Maybe he can teach Vladdy a trick or two of the trade.

It's official. Don Mattingly, All-Star, Golden Glove former player, World Series winner, one-time Manager of the Year, has been hired as bench coach for the Blue Jays.

He would be an exceptional hire for the Jays.

As a player he was probably the second best first bagger in Yankee history.

And nobody saw that one coming. He just worked his ass off and is a true student of the game.

His success came on the biggest stage in the game. He knows pressure and what comes with high expectations.

Mattingly was an exceptional ball player and has valuable coaching experience. I'd say a very good hire by the club.

He has never won a WS as a player or manager/coach
It was very strange. He came along after the late 70s wins and then they won the year after he retired. He was a great player in the sense that he punched well above his weight as far as natural skills go. He did win an mvp as well.

There was a period where he was the best player in baseball, the three years around his MVP season.

He'll probably make the HOF this/next year with the veterans committee.

Now if only Donnie can talk to Cody. Get Bellinger to come over.

The title had me believing that the other Donnie was looking to expand his successful business ventures and purchase the Blue Jays. Great to hear it's the Yankee legend instead.

No thanks! Def don’t want Cody Bellinger on the Jays next year.
I do. fill that Teoscar void in the lineup with a left-handed superstar that sucked really bad the last couple years lol. Sometimes the change of scenery does the trick.

I was just talking, but the more i think about this, the more I like it. Although there is some talk about him currently working out with the Cardinals bench coach, I would sign Cody Bellinger in a heart beat. New team, new league. Cody is 27 years old. The guy has thunder in his bat. Right now, as is, probably around 20 to 25 million a year. Apparently he’s getting his strength back. Doesn’t look like that Dodgers have much interest anymore.
