Asked my buddy to read this article especially the part about the direction of impact due to the crater.
He said, and I quote "Their fucked in the head, they gotta get out of their fuckin office and go to a war zone"
He explained to me that once the war head makes contact, it explodes sending shrapnel and a blast wave out.
When it impacts on an angle, especially on hard surfaces, most of that blast is directed forward due to the body of the rocket blocking most of the explosive effect from going to the rear of the rocket.
When the warhead explodes the rest of the rocket continues embeding itself into the ground at the impact point creating a crater and will throw dirt to the rear of the hole towards the entry point and what ever material is above will be loosened up and will hump up or fall into the hole depending on the density of the material.
He said kind of like putting powder in an envelope and blowing into it, the powder blows back out the path of least resistance.
