The virus is ramping up in India, South America, Africa. The world cannot stay disconnected and unless a vaccine is produced, the virus is here to stay. The wave theory doesn't have much meaning with this virus.

the second wave is the latest scare tactic. during the lockdowns hopitals were empty many staff were laid off, and death rates from covid where inflated (cough colorado cough) etc

Actually, the original question is impossible to answer because the first wave is not yet finished (except for possibly NY, NJ and CT.) so we don't know the final tallies and therefore we don't know what the 2nd wave will be compared to.

The surge we are seeing now through the south (hot temps will kill the virus...yeah, right) is due to that area getting their first wave at a later date than in the north. So it seems like a 2nd wave chronologically but geographically it is the 1st.

death rates are going down.
Hospitalizations along with cases are going up. I think the case rate has increased by 600% in the last 4-6 weeks. A number of hospitals are nearing capacity and the rates are going up.

Nope

1- govt realizes the knee jerk reaction to cripple economy was stupid and wont overreact again
2- higher base percentage of people alr exposed will have immunity
3- very unlikely next flu virus mutation will be anywhere near as infectious

this first wave, many had it , it was so bad they had no symptoms......I just thought about that, if this virus is that bad, it would cause severe reactions, it would not discriminate......it would be expected as we ease restrictions more cases would surface...Sweden decided it have this all happen at the beggining. a wiser approach i believe . Now the economy ramifications will last for years, the worse it gets the more people will protest, etc.. although i hope i am wrong look at 2008 and we had a boom for 10 years

More thinking required. This time, try to keep in mind that not everybody's immune system provides the same level of immunity and that some people are more robust and able to withstand the impact of the virus better.

You are right.

Plus, people may have an immune system over reaction.

We are still in the first wave. If there is a second wave it will be in the fall,
when traditional flu season hits as more people go back to being indoors with
the cooler weather, returning to work, etc.

Yes, there has always been a 2nd wave with pandemics, however those were influenza strains.
This is a novel (or "new") coronavirus, so we don't know if that will happen again this time.

Just a guess, but I'm anticipating there will be isolated outbreaks throughout Canada at specific
locations for the forseeable future, but the overall infection and mortality rate will drop. We'll move to
Stage 3 in late summer and things will be more normal, other than the social distancing and masks.
Then we'll live like that until a vaccine is developed.

They did laws about mandatory mask wearing under the first wave so the second wave find the population with very weak Lung and immune system. The mask weakening ur defense mechanism and worth nothing against the virus. The history repeats itself always but we never learn. Sad.

Professionals? ....lol Who? Dr Tam?Who changed her advice always? Or you? You don't know anything and I don't know anything. We know thoughts what the media suggested for us. We don't know those are true or false because we were not there, and we don't have personal experience except the mask, what I wear and make me tired and feel sick after a few hours . You think, you know facts, but the facts are questionable always. I have own thoughts and you have what you have. That's all. I see the world in different angle than you (thanks God) What I wrote it's my opinion, not a fact and I believe it. You can believe in your opinion. Good luck to wear the mask all of the time and be healthy.
