Sad that you buy that kind of shoddy analysis. Are you saying people are masked in their family homes, at parties, at restaurants, while playing sports (not to mention the number of people who don't actually wear masks at work)?
Absolutely. When I'm outside by myself, there is no need for an N95 so I usually wear a multi-layer cloth mask. The actual science says that ventilation is the biggest factor so being distanced from people and outside is much, much lower risk.
In my office I wear a medical rated medical mask. I can keep distanced, have windows, and there are typically only 3 or 4 people in a 1500 sq ft space.
I wear a N95 when grocery shopping on on the TTC. I also wear a N95 in part of our production facility but that is mainly because of the dust and particulate matter from machining metals and plastics.
If you never studied fluid dynamics, you might believe that.
5 seconds in the garbage chute is pretty damn low risk unless some covid infected person has just spent the last few hours coughing and sneezing in the tiny space.
Like masks, condoms are reasonably effective against STIs but since they're not 100%, you must think they are useless.

I have some cloth ones I like for the outdoors when I can’t give people space, and at the gym.
I wear an N95 for the Nona’s and toddlers at my neighbourhood pharmacy, grocery and big box stores.
Surgical mask for work, by organization policy. Wouldn’t mind going down to cloth mask or no mask, but at this point I hardly notice I’m wearing one.

It’s such a minor inconvenience and we’re so accustomed to it now that listening to people whine as if a mask is shackles around their limbs is so exhausting.
Exercise, some physical jobs, sure there can be times when wearing one can be very uncomfortable and annoying but for the vast majority of activities the bitching from anti mask types just shows how soft our society has become.
Not at all. I’m laughing with someone who is coming across as being the most risk adverse individual I’ve ever met and he’s in the hobby.
Just funny as fuck wearing a different mask based on the risk factor of the situation / activity. Each to their own.
And since you used the STI analogy as an example to evaluate risk. The risk of implications from getting an STI are high for me, the risk of Covid is extremely low. I’ve had it twice and it was nothing. No itchy knob funny enough.
BTW. I’m no anti-masker. I’m a good neighbor and I’ve only been wearing them to make people like you and Shack comfortable.

Sorry but I analyse risk. That's why my mask choices depend on the situation. Same with condoms. I don't wear condoms when I'm in longstanding relationships and I don't wear masks when in my family bubble. I wear masks/condoms when with people outside my bubble. I don't go to bars with unmasked people and I don't partake of street meat.
