Big frank was having a good year till he got hurt. I say he goes to the Cubs since they will have to replace Sosa's bat. From everything i hear Sammy is done as a Cub.

Hey *may* very well stay here.
I doubt it, but it's possible.
I'd suspect a warm-weather, competitive club.
Los Angeles?
San Francisco? (Hey, Bonds could use the help. ;) )
The Pads may be willing to spend soon, what with the new park.
Texas or Oakland?

It's a guessing game.

I do know he wont be a Cardinal. I dont think he would like sitting on the bench.

If I had to guess, I'd say LA. He'd be taking a huge chance, though - his numbers haven't been stupendous lately, and they won't bounce back fully if he plays in that death valley for hitters. He may cost himself a shot at the Hall if he signs with the Dodgers.

Delagado

Since he didn't allow JP Ricciardi to trade him before the deadline shows he doesn't like playing for this management & stuck it to them. So Jays can't get any players for him from a trade. Way to go Delagado! And JP wants to get more bang for his buck says Delgado ain't gonna be here next year. Factor in that Delagado would like to win before he retires (no way he'll do it with Toronto), he's gonna pick a team that has a very good chance to win.

- LA, with buddy Green
- Yankees, his bat & presence is more intimidating than Olerud or Giambi
- Houston, Clemons might try to convince former teamate & give him 5 Rolexes. Who currently plays first base on Houston?
- St. Louis, likes to pick up ex-Jays. Who plays first base ?

No way Houston - they don't have enough dough to keep Beltran.
Fuhged about it.
Last time I checked, St. Louis was pretty well set at first with some guy named Pujols. ;)

Evidently Carlos' agent and Jays brass (including Godfrey) will be having serious negotiations and are "hopeful" an agreement can be reached. I believe Carlos is willing to accept less from the Jays than other teams and JP's budget will probably be expanded since the team only lost $7 million this year as opposed to the $70 million they lost when JP got here.

I think it would be great for the team due his consistent production, while maintaining team morale and also from a PR point of view. They won't have to deal the pro-Delgado backlash (press and lower ticket sales) if he goes and I believe it would be substantial. Obviously it would be less of reconstruction project if Delgado was there knocking in runs to take some of the pressure off the youngsters as they continue (hopefully) to develop. Not as many fans will be willing to put up with another rebuilding plan especially if they feel the Jays are just trying to save money and not really trying to build a winner. Delgado gives them more credibility.

I think he may very well stay here, and it would be nice if he could. But ONLY if it's for drastically less then he was making before.

I would love to see him in a Jays uniform again, but I don't think it likely.

As for where he may go, the best bets are the Yankees, Baltimore, and LA.

Houston still has Bagwell signed for another season, and he's a fan favourite there so don't look for him to go to the Stros. Texas is also not likely as they already have a good, young, power hitting first baseman in Mark Teixeira and Delgado doesn't want to DH, so the Rangers are most likely out of the picture.

Baltimore should concentrate on pitching, but they are looking to spend money and Delgado would look good hitting behind Tejada. The Yankees have more money than brains (mush like most strip club junkies), and love to spend, so they are always in the hunt for more big names.

His numbers did drop significantly this year, but remember he was playing injured for awhile, after getting off to a slow start, and he finished strong. I believe only Bonds and Pujols had more homeruns after the All Star Break than Delgado (22).

So heres hopping that he comes back, but I wouldn't get my hopes up, and where ever he goes, I wish him well.

And hope that he doesn't play us too often.
