Take it for what it is. Just sharing this info.

For my needs model Y would be better so probably will cancel my preorder. Mainly because of cost and I don’t need it for the truck/towing function. Model Y towing is fine for me. Maybe if they priced it like model Y I would get it but right now I just don’t need it and I am limited on funds. I do like the durability and steer by wire technology though and that you can take mirrors off which is so cool but not sure how legal it is here.

In the United States, according to a 2023 study citing recent data from the National Transportation Safety Board and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, gasoline-powered, internal-combustion engine (ICE) cars were involved in about 1,530 fires per every 100,000 sold. On the other hand, pure electric vehicles (meaning those powered only by batteries) were involved in just 25 fires per 100,000 sold
While EV fires are rare, they're especially dangerous and extremely hard to fight. They produce highly toxic fumes which can force the evacuation of apartment buildings and condos should one catch fire. EVs tend to catch fire while charging (at night when people are sleeping) whereas ICEs primarily catch fire when they're being driven. They're also much easier to extinguish.
