I think it's ugly. Besides, I don't need a truck. Only when EV's are the same price, are as convenient as ICE vehicle to operate, have the same range and take the same amount of time to "fill" will the masses adopt them. If it's not convenient, people won't buy them, period. Forcing the population to strictly adopt EVs by 2035 is nuts.
They estimate we'll need 442,000 public charging stations across Canada to meet demands by 2035. There's currently 25,000 and they're installing them at the rate of 6,000 per year. At this rate they'll be 351,000 short. Obviously production will increase, but there's a long, long way to go before people will buy in.
"Battery electric vehicle registrations accounted for the entire decline, posting a 6.9 per cent market share, down from 8.4 per cent in Q4 2022. Zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) registrations in Canada lost a full percentage point of market share in the first quarter of 2023 after hitting a record high in Q4 of last year."
"EVs sit on the market an average 82 days versus 64 days for gas-powered vehicles, it said. In response to slowing demand, automakers like Ford and GM are cutting production. EVs are still too expensive for most people, even with government incentives, surveys say."
