The mainstream Christians may be evolving and slowly learning to accept that everything in the Bible shouldn't be accepted literally, but the fundamentalist Christian taliban around us are increasing in numbers and looking to force their beliefs more noisily than ever.Almost all major Christian denominations accept evolution as part of what is going on.
May be? How about have long since. The mainstream Christians may be evolving and slowly learning to accept that everything in the Bible shouldn't be accepted literally.
Humm, obviously there must be an huge number of exceptions to that rule.Intelligent people 'less likely to believe in God' .
Good grief!Get this...
About a month ago I had a conversation with a gentleman who tried to convince me that dinosaurs (yes, dinosaurs!!) walked the earth 'one-hundred years ago'. Even when I reminded this individual that; the car is just over one hundred years old; that cameras were readily available to capture the giant lizards if they were still here; that his great grandparents would have seen/heard of them as contemporaries, he stuck to his mind-set. At that point the conversation ended as I realized that we were millions of years apart and only had one night to converse.....
I still shake my head thinking of this.
How long? If it's less than a couple hundred years, that's not very long ago in the long history of religious dominance. They are slowly evolving, but could easily backtrack with the rise of the fundamentalists they often defend.May be? How about have long since.
Oh shyt.... now THATS funny! Brought tears to my eyes! LMAOGoing through ooh-ya-more posting history, I see a bunch of posts about his belief in the Christian God and asking about various MPA's.
Must be one of those new age Christians that it's okay to freely fornicate but wrong to accept science.
There has been a lot of development in many things including Historical Criticism in 150 years. How long? If it's less than a couple hundred years, that's not very long.
I really rather doubt that.could easily backtrack with the rise of the fundamentalists they often defend.
God says "its none of fuji's business"Are you one of those nuts who thinks the world is 4000 years old?
If not let me ask you this: Why wouldn't God choose evolution as his preferred method of creating life? Who says he didn't start the universe so perfectly in the big bang that everything unfolded per a plan, with evolution being just another part of that plan?
There's no reason it couldn't happen, we went into Dark Ages once before because of fundamentalists and it's happening again in some parts of the world.I really rather doubt that.
Some such as the ABC, and Canadian Baptist Ministries, however, the Southern Baptist Convention certainly falls on the literalist side of the line.Do you consider Baptists to be mainstream Christians?
Just curious......which 'quack' are you refering to?Not interested in what these quacks are saying.
sorry- when was this? There's no reason it couldn't happen, we went into Dark Ages once before because of fundamentalists and it's happening again in some parts of the world.
