Creation vs. Evolution

A hard core evolutionist professor changes his outlook when faced with the overwhelming scientific evidence against evolution.

This is the other side of the story the scientific community vehemently opposes. As it exposes evolution as just another religion. One requiring far greater faith then any Christian, Muslim, Hindu or Buddhist could ever exhibit.

Darwinism and natural selection as models for the evolution of life are contrasted with origin by design. This fascinating lecture includes examples of irreducible complexity, discusses the core of genetic problems involved in the evolutionary process, and is presented in simple terms so that even non-scientists can understand the principles involved.

Interview with Professor Walter Veith

I've posted this not to change minds. But for those interested in which the other side has to say. Even evolution teaches the need for two opposites. Without it natural selection cannot work.

So which one of the two are truley scientific, evolution or creation?

And one more scientific site: http://creation.com/

Are you one of those nuts who thinks the world is 4000 years old?

If not let me ask you this: Why wouldn't God choose evolution as his preferred method of creating life? Who says he didn't start the universe so perfectly in the big bang that everything unfolded per a plan, with evolution being just another part of that plan?

With a name like "amazing discoveries" and "creation.com" they just have to be unbiased and scientific. Besides, if it's on the internet, it must be true.

Going through ooh-ya-more posting history, I see a bunch of posts about his belief in the Christian God and asking about various MPA's.

Must be one of those new age Christians that it's okay to freely fornicate but wrong to accept science.

You really believe that crap?
Of course you should feel free to believe whatever gobbly gook religion you like, but when you start saying its a theory equal in merit to the theory of evolution, then either you need to go back to grade 6 science or you should just keep this discussion in your church.

I remember reading a stat (probably Harper's index) that said that about 50% of American's don't believe the theory of evolution. That to me is even more shocking than the number of people who believe there are two equal sides to the climate change debate.

Oh no! You mean there are people out there who don't think the same as you?

I don't mind people holding different opinions or beliefs. Muslims, Christians, Jews--more power to them. Diversity is a blessing, really.

What I can't tolerate is stupidity, and creationism is stupid people talk.

LOL! Thanks!

Evolution is science, creationism is not. Period. I don't even feel sorry for those who take creationism seriously. As Einstein said: "Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I’m not sure about the universe."
Good one!

While I am a devout atheist, it still fascinates how so many organized theists (Jew, Christian, Moslem, whatever) DIMINISH and trivialize their Gods.

"Ayuh, praise the Lord for letting me catch the touchdown pass!"

But, the VAST reach of Time, the universe, the VAST complexity of sub-atomic particles, the VAST scope of mathematics, EVOLUTION, energy & mass- ya might think they might like to take CREDIT for all this wonder for their God!

As Newton used to say, "Gravity is not only a good idea, it's the law!"

It is hard to imagine people having such a hard time with evolution. It is a theory in the scientific sense of the word, meaning it is a series of concepts used to explain observable phenomena, but in lay terms, evolution is a fact. There is absolutely no question about it. It is as solid as gravity. If you had a bunch of idiots challenging Newton and his theory of gravity, what would the execs at Boeing say? "Well, you know, the lifting power of God is a perfectly valid alternative to explain why planes are flying!" Evolution is THE foundation of modern biology and modern medicine. What is (mostly) the American society doing wasting time with these idiotic ideas coming from the religious right? The Christian Taliban is trying to slow down the cultural and intellectual development of society. We are appalled at the Taliban preventing girls from attending school and yet we allow some fucking Christian nutbars to challenge the teaching of sciences in our schools. And during that time, China and India is leapfrogging us big time. I am very affraid of how the North American educational system is going to look like in 30 years...

Oh, another thing. Scientists argue about stuff. And academics sometime argue vehemently about nit-picking details of their domain of expertise. But fundamentally, they agree on the big stuff. Every single self-respecting biologist will agree with the foundations and principles of evolution. Only a few brainwashed religious quacks will let their rational intellect get overtaken by faith-based fanatical fantasies.

And we think it is silly for adults to believe in Santa Claus? Have I told you the story of the virgin jewish girl who got knocked-up by an etheral old white guy living in clouds? And guess what happened to the kid? He walked on water, her turned water into wine, he came back from the dead after a few days and then flew into the sky! Crazy shit man, totally crazy!

Creationists are feeling more and more threatened everyday so they have to come up with some whacky stuff.
The irony is, their idiocy has evolved over the years and they have become more and more stupid.

Religion is a sham (and some are most of its stories), I'm so glad I gave up on it and not wasted anymore time on it.

Get this...

About a month ago I had a conversation with a gentleman who tried to convince me that dinosaurs (yes, dinosaurs!!) walked the earth 'one-hundred years ago'. Even when I reminded this individual that; the car is just over one hundred years old; that cameras were readily available to capture the giant lizards if they were still here; that his great grandparents would have seen/heard of them as contemporaries, he stuck to his mind-set. At that point the conversation ended as I realized that we were millions of years apart and only had one night to converse.....

I still shake my head thinking of this.

Which is just as shocking as the number of people in Canada who don't believe in God.

I wonder if there is any updated statistics on the proportion of
religious among Canadians. In my days as a fresh Canadian from
the 80's one interesting observation I made about the presence of
religion in this country is that it is a secular society inside out and yet
everyone seem to be associated with some sort of religion or religious
belief. Some of my Christian friends pointed to me that vast majority of
people (80--90%?) believed in a God which seems consistent with my
observation. After all it is God who keep our land glorious and free
according to our national anthem which no one seem to mind even
in this age of political correctness.

Even if Evolution was disproved with absolute certainty (which any rational thinker knows is next to impossible), that wouldn't provide proof that any other religion is the real deal.
