Anyone still think this is no big deal? The media is exaggerating things. The flu kills more people every year bla bla bla...
If our lovely government had been on top of things & made sure there was enough masks for everyone it wouldn't be a really big deal. Same as Japan (oldest population in the world) & South Korea. Good hygiene, masks, social distancing when possible, keeping the old & at risk quarantined life goes on. It's manageable, it's not the Bubonic plaque ffs! It's not going away anytime soon we have to learn to deal & manage it, we live in a great country can't let this bring our economy to it's knee's. I said it two weeks ago I'll bet a bj this doesn't get anymore people here than the flu. If the at risk stayed quarantined for three months or more our numbers would be really low.

Are we still on track for 1 million cases worldwide before April?

@Canada-Man: Today is March 31st and there are 7,424 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Canada. On March 1st, there were 24 confirmed cases in Canada. So, as of this moment, there are exactly 7,400 more cases at the end of the month than what we started with on March 1st.

To put this another way, there are 309 times more cases on March 31st than we had on March 1st.

If people do not isolate and keep reasonable distances away from each other, the number of CV19 cases in Canada will grow exponentially in April and May.

With all due respect to you, telling us that COVID-19 "isn't a big deal" is akin to you telling us the Earth is flat or the universe is only 5,000 years old. In plain talk, it's nonsensical.

the consequences of overreacting instead of ONLY quarantine those who are vulnerable like they do in Taiwan

The more tests being done, the more positive test results you are going to see.

There was an increase of 426 positives as of this morning's report but there were also 6,245 more tests done. There were 57, 874 tests done compared to the previous 51,629. The percentage of people testing positive is hovering around the same percentage. I see that as a good sign. Trying to be optimistic.

Somebody posted something similar somewhere but I can't find it. What happens is you have people testing positive so you test more people. Then you have even more people testing positive because you have even more people tested so you test more people and so on and so on. It's a snowball effect.

And in time the true mortality rate will be determined, right now it is artificially high as the virus is going after the most vulnerable.

there is no real statistics right now. the numbers you see in every news are the numbers of tested. not everyone is currently tested. If you have mild symptoms, you're simply advised to stay home. regardless if you're positive or not. You are advised to a 14 day quarantine once the assessment is that you have symptoms...it won't matter if it's flu, cold or the virus.

ROFL - that's pure idiocy!

Ask yourself why a country with reportedly 3000 deaths from COVID keeps shipping in thousands and thousands of new urns to one location every week, despite reportedly having the virus under control.

What say you return here when you have real statistics to report under the heading Real Statistics ?
