I was surprised to learn that this was a Chris Montez song from the Sixties (Montez did Let's Dance, used in Animal House and covered fantasically by The Ramones).

I see someone noted Fleetwood Mac's original version of Santana's "Black Magic Woman".

Santana covered a few other songs, they did a remake of Willie Bobo's "Evil Ways" from 1967 for their first hit.

Here's the original version of "Good Lovin'" by the Olympics from 1965. They managed to reach the Hot 100 chart but the Young Rascals took it all the way to #1 a year later.

Look for Billy Preston with a Beatle haircut. He was a member of Shindig's house band at the time.
