I've always thought this song was extremely odd. It's about an adult girlfriend who reminds the singer of when he was a child. Somehow, his thoughts become conflated into loving her as "sweet child of mine". It can't be healthy to love someone as an adult because you think of her as a child and she makes you feel like a child! Weird thoughts that I'm not sure many consider when they listen to this song.I first heard this song in a commercial that was forwarded to me, I thought it was a beautiful cover of a classic GnR song and wanted to pass it on.

Elvis for sure. Although the Drifters were a great Doo Wop group.
The Diamonds, great Canadian group from Toronto, saw them way back when I was a kid. Their song The Stroll became a big dance craze.
