I'd rather wear a home made mask to shop if forced than one provided by a store.

Who knows whose touched those before me.

But like I have stated before I'm of the belief that they offer little to no protection at all. Unless of course you have a N95 mask which you need to replace every time after you use it. I don't know anybody who has that much stock that can do or afford that.

Of course with extended use of the N95 mask you could be possibly be breathing to much CO2 which could likely will alter the PH of your blood. Not to mention your resting heart rate has to increase to compensate for the extra effort. For someone who is already hypertensive this really not a good situation. Especially when driving as light headiness is a real issue.

No, things will go back to pre-covid ways of living before you know it. Because of human nature and all that good stuff.
Humans are adaptable (at least the smart ones are). I'm old enough to remember when I use to engage in bareback sex with strange women. Now I have to wear a condom. I'm also old enough to remember when I could play hockey without a helmet and drive in my car without wearing a seat belt.

If you are not adaptable, it could mean the end of a dynasty of tiny cocks.

Why do some people think (hope) this virus is a "temporary" event? I'll be convinced when we have an effective vaccine (even then there will be anti-vaccers).

"as per your example there are still people having bareback sex and others not using helmets when riding their bikes...that doesn’t change even today..." Yes, there will always be outliers. Old habits die hard, maybe that is why 3 motorcyclists died this past weekend.

I’m not sure why anyone would wait for a vaccine to go on with their lives....
I've been going on with my life throughout the lockdown. There is a balance. I don't wear my mask 24/7 (only when I go into a bank or a 24/7 convenience store). I don't wear a mask when on my bike, car or at home.

even if they came up with the vaccine tomorrow we already know more than half of the population isn’t going to take it.....
Will always be the case in a democracy. Surely, we don't want to violate their Charter rights to be stupid.

The mask is not to protect you from the droplets in the air (indeed, regular mask offers little protection). It is to protect everybody else from the droplet that you emit when you breath, talk, etc. It will greatly decrease the speed at which droplets exit your mouth in the air and, as a result, they will fall down much fasted. You are not protecting yourself by wearing mask, you are protecting everybody else from yourself. You are protected by other people wearing masks and it is the main reason why stores make masks mandatory.

If these businesses are going to mandate that their customers wear face masks then they must supply them. Do we know if this happened in this case? If it did and this guy refused then he shouldn't have been allowed entry in the first place.
Any business that forces me to wear a mask will not get my business. I would wear a mask in a hospital, medical office or long term care facility that's it.
Roy Foss Service department required that I wear a mask and Uber as well - I complied as I needed those services if I dont need your service gfys

If you hate wearing a mask, you're really not going to like the ventilator.
You sound scared over a disease perhaps twice as deadly as the flu. That's no way to go thru life.

There is no reason to "adapt" to temporary (and inflated) threats. We've had plagues since the dawn of humankind, a far more dangerous one merely 100 years ago. People wore masks then, and then they stopped once the threat went away. Like they will this time too.

That you actually believe a significant number of people will begin wearing masks for the rest of their public lives goes to show how ridiculous this entire situation has become. You're so emotionally invested in the present, that you're not thinking clearly about the future.

Since this virus was probably created in a Chinese lab, it may not go away as quickly as you think.

If COVID were to disappear as Sars, vaccine, or treatment why would anyone want to continue to wear masks? I don't see anyone claiming they want to continue wearing a mask once COVID is defeated or dies on its own.

Even if it doesn't disappear, wearing masks won't be the long term norm. I'm not at all concerned about Costco or any other company implementing rules to appease the fearful. It's just a matter of time before such rules are once again put in the dustbin of history.

If there's a second wave, then the mask won't be going into the dustbin. If this virus has been modified in a chinese lab, it may stick around for a while. Some think it has been modified to make it very contagious.
