I just checked my Cogego Internet package and found the regular price ( no promo ) is $30 less than what I currently pay. Arg!

I am not the best on checking this kind of thing. I just assume it remains the same or gets more expensive. Oops.

I called and got it reduced.

I recommend anybody who wishes to stay with Cogeco but hasn't checked their packages lately, give it a look.

These guys are complete scammers. I signed up a couple of years ago and got a 10 year $60/mth discount off their 1 gbps rate and now I pay $70/mth after a couple of increases, making the monthly rate $130/mth.

New customers pay $60/mth with a $40 discount for 24 months, making their regular monthly rate $100 vs my $130.

Time for me to shop around again.

I go with smaller ISPs and have never had any issues. I personally use vMedia who's cable runs off Cogeco lines. Costs less and I almost never have any problems dealing with their support team when something happens. They even let you buy a modem so you don't have to pay to rent one

I have a similar arrangement with teksavvy; they've been my ISP since December, 2006.

Teksavvy buys bulk bandwidth from Rogers and Bell, then sells essentially the same services for less.

I pay $100 per month for Internet, but I have the premium DSL, with just less than 1 MB/sec upload speed, about 5.5 MB/sec download speed, and unlimited bandwidth usage, by volume. I do a lot of uploading/ downloading, perhaps 2 terabytes per month on average, so I wasn't interested in any plan which had a bandwidth cap.

My condo board negotiated a deal with Rogers for 1.5 gig cable, internet, 2 boxes, Netflix, Starz, Crave for $60/month. I'm a Prime subscriber as well.

They're all scammers, I'm with Primus, they're offering better deals to the new people. I call the retention department and tell them I'm going to leave unless they do better and they do.

I'm with Primus as well, but through Costco. As soon as their special is about to expire, I then sign up for a new package at very advantageous prices.

In the past I had to go to the Costco Store to contact a Primus agent and then switch to a new plan. But the last time I could only go online to switch to a new plan. The Primus Agents were no longer available at the Costco stores.
