The Gatekeeper Media, especially the NYT and CNN, hate Rogan as they consider him and all podcasters/independent media as a direct threat to their business model. Which is an oligarchy on information dissemination.

What they don't get is he isn't. He is his own niche that has grown organically over a decade with a different method of the long form interview. Lasting up to three hours where people are completely free to speak their mind both within their profession and passions, and on other unrelated topics just as a person in society.

But he takes away eyeballs and listeners that to their mind belong to them no matter what. So they alternate between dismissal and alarm at him to try to prevent people from checking him out. And everytime they express alarm it only drives people to him even more.

I swear sometimes I don't think they understand just how small in an internet world they are.

Since becoming aware of Rogan due to you and other posters, I've also become aware of his close connection with Alex Jones and Ben Shapiro. Throw in other winners like Robert Malone. Rogan is pretty clearly playing the far right pundit game.

If he was a straight-shooter challenging the established order, I would wish him well. But that does not seem to be what is happening with him.

Quit comparing apples and oranges.
So recently on The Rational National, a Canadian Vlog on YouTube, the author of a study was on that looked at media bias in Canada. They found that panels on all three networks always had paid lobbyists on, and that in many cases they made up the majority. These pundits were intruduced as former politicians or bureaucrats, or the heads of think tanks. But their paid positions as lobbyists for the private sector businesses being discussed on the panels were not disclosed. And it was consistent that this occured.

They may not be as obvious about it, but that, in a way, makes it worse.

Ari Shaffir was on the Jim and Sam Show, he said Joe Rogan is a doofus which is why he's so popular.

Rogan is not as interesting as he was on YT, back then he didn't need to justify his salary.

Ummm…. Was CNN broadcasting that way, or did the TV set it played on need the colour adjusted?
That can be interesting, I remember when our very early color TV needed adjusting for awhile. Green Fonzie was better than The Munsters...

Yeah, Dr. Malone is a loser, alright. One of the inventors of the mrna technology who holds multiple patents on his inventions, the patented results that made injecting yourself possible is way too unqualified to have an opinion on the subject. Oy vey.

Just look at the sponsors. All the major news networks are brought to you by Pfizer.
This is worth a read.

Couple of things: CNN has a service so affiliates across the US and world can get update video quickly. So, that could explain why the ABC story had the same video. The other thing is that when networks take in cellphone video in portrait mode, they need to correct it by adding a frame, or zooming in. It really shouldn't affect the video quality, but it can happen. The other issue is that some of that darkness could be the system's automated color corrector being set at the wrong level. Or the original video was back lit so everything in the foreground is darker.

You don't have to look very deep to see how mainstream media manipulates stories. The problem is, most people don't scrape below the surface to find out.
And many who don't trust mainstream media, for some reason trust streamers, podcasters and other secondary sources, who are usually even worse at skewing the facts.

Shouldn't this thread be in the politics forum? I come to the Lounge to read about people's favourite sitcoms and porn-star trivia. People need some respite from angry conspiracy mongering. Leave us alone.

It's sad and on a personal level hurtful. Many of us used to tune into CNN for years when it was a much more trustworthy news source. Now it's worse than a tabloid... it's yellow journalism + advocacy.
