One of the last few times I went, 1980, it was the night of the Alice Cooper riot, he failed to show for the concert, crowd became an angry mob and starting rioting,, dozens of yellow Crown Victorias arrived on scene , lots of cops came pouring out of cruisers to quell the scene.

I went a few years ago as they had a free concert that I wanted to see. It was a good time, but I remember the concert more than the rest of the experience. I looked at the concert lineup this year and there's no one I want to see so I'll pass

I haven’t been since 2015. I used to go most years for the airshow. I vividly remember the RAF Nimrod crashing into Lake Ontario in 1995. You could hear a pin drop immediately afterwards. Most people including myself couldn’t believe what just happened.

How was your experience after not being to the CNE in 30 years?

I remember going there when I was a kid but things are so different from back then I can only imagine what it was like 30 years ago

Well, first a wave of warm nostalgia ran through me, then came the depressing realization that 3 decades of my life passed so quickly. But all in all, it was a good time with lots of down to earth entertainment and things to see/do.
