I'd like to hear your Campbell prediction.
Obviously I was wrong about the Rielly deal. He did give a home town discount, and signed something that isn't ludicrous.

As for Campbell, I see him coming in around $5.5. They'll need to cut salary to accommodate this price point, and I assume it will be Petr Mrazek will be traded for a cheaper backup. I don't think a deal will happen until the end of the season. And this price could soar if Campbell wins the Vezina. He's been lights out all season. Obviously with a flat salary cap, and the fact that the Scotia Bank Arena is going to be at 50% capacity going forward, I don't know how much higher it'll go this season. There could be some other trades on the horizon to accommodate a lot of this salary.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Some guys on here never 'go out on a limb' and make predictions or even take wild ass guesses just for fun and conversation. What gets them hard is coming in after the fact and pointing out when predictions don't pan out. That's how they get their jollies. Makes em' feel smart. There aren't a lot of them, but they're pretty consistent.

You weren't wrong though in your original assessment of Rielly. It wasn't to discredit you. It was a valid assessment. Rielly is a very good signing for Leafs. He clearly looks like the best defenseman on the Leafs right now and he's still relatively young and in his prime. He could very well play his whole career as a Leaf. Your assessment of Campbell looks good as well. I'd be surprised if he is not a Leaf following this year.

They are a strange bunch. For example, they go apeshit when they spot a typo by someone. That seems to be a highlight in their lives.
